I assume the earliest I can book for the Afternoon Tea and the GF is 6 months like the other restaurants. Is this correct? Also what did you think of it if you've been? I'm hoping to do it with my friend and mom to celebrate graduation.

That sounds like a fun idea. I'm going to be doing it for the first time in a few weeks. I'll let you know how it goes - it sounds so cool!

We tried it two weeks ago and thought it was a wonderful way to spend time in the late afternoon. We will do it agian, and yes 6 months ahead of time is the earliest you may reserve.

I booked the Garden View Tea Room at 180 + 10 days when I booked all of my other ADR's and I got the opening time of 2.00pm. :goodvibes

I am really looking forward to afternoon tea with my DD7. DH and DS13 will have some time to do whatever they want to do - for some reason I think that they will head straight for ESPN!? ;)

I got a chance to do the Tea in January, while DD was having her tea with Alice at the Wonderland Tea Party. I did not have an ADR, but walked up to the podium and asked if they would be able to seat me. The hostess came across as a bit snooty, but said if I didn't mind waiting they might be able to get me in. While I was standing there a couple came up with the same question, and they were given the same answer. They were seated almost immediately. I waited about 15 minutes before they got to me.

Unfortunately, there was a large party of 8 seated right across from me and they got all the attention. Service, for me, was the worst I've ever experienced at Disney. The party of 8 got great service though.

When I ordered Sally Lunn Bread (which I loved), the server said something along the lines of "You do know that's just toast, right?" I don't think I'd consider it "just toast" at all. I also ordered scones, which I didn't like. I don't think there was anything wrong with them. I think I'm just not a scone person, but I'm glad I tried them. I also ordered a couple of pastries (one for me, one to-go for DD), and let the server know that I might also want strawberries and cream, if I had room for it.

I never got the strawberries, because by the time the server came back (with my check) I didn't think I'd have time. (I sat there for quite a while, 10+ minutes maybe, just looking around, waiting for her.) Then she never even came back to pick up my check. After waiting until the minute before DD was scheduled to be out of her tea party, I left the check and some cash on the table, got up and left. I was planning to pay with my KTTW card, but she never came to get it. I also wanted a box for one of the pastries I had ordered for DD, but I never got that either, even though I told her when I ordered it that it was to go, for my DD, etc. :headache:

I've read tons of good reviews of the Tea, so I know mine had to be an isolated incident. I'll try it again one day, but maybe not solo. As a solo diner I felt pretty unimportant, from the time I checked in to the time I left. :confused3

. . . yep
. . . same booking time limits

Also what did you think of it if you've been?
. . . it is a nice way to relax from hectic parks
. . . we have done it 2-3 times per year
. . . however, we are now reconsidering
. . . they just raised the prices (and canceled the Sally Lunn option)
. . . it is no longer a good price value, but still nice-pleasant-enjoyable

I'm hoping to do it with my friend and mom to celebrate graduation.
. . . sounds good

We have a 2:00 reservation after our 1:00 wedding. It's just the 2 of us and we're having GF Bakery set up our cake (for 2) there. Hoping it's a little more special than just going to any restaurant afterwards. Because of the timing of events, we didn't want a big meal at 2:00 to ruin our 7:30 dinner at Citricos so this seems perfect :)
