Afternoon parade - early dinner at Castle question

Ok it has been decades since my wife and I have been to WDW, first time with our 8 year old daughter.

We have 3:55 Castle dinner time (only time we could get)...

Is there a spot on the parade route that would allow us to be able to see the parade and still get to the castle in time for our reservation?

Tried to get FP for afternoon parade but they were all already taken...

Our other MK day we have Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Boutique scheduled at 3 (and Halloween party that evening) and our third MK day is last day so would like to be able to park hop and hit rides one last time if we want to (managed to get FP for MK fireworks for last day - I think it will be a great way to end the trip)

My experience this Monday. The parade started at 3pm by Frontierland, didn't get to Main St until 3:15 ish. By 3:30, everything is over. You should have enough time to walk to CRT.

FoF starts in Frontierland. I would watch from there or Liberty Square, and then make your way to the castle after it passes by.

In your case, having a FP+ for the parade would be a detriment due to the current FP+ location, which is in Town Square near the park entrance. It's at the end of the parade route and then you'd have to swim against the crush of people who follow the parade on their way out of the park for an afternoon break.

Thanks for the reply. I actually was a college intern at WDW back in '91 and the parade was at 3 p.m. then and also started in Frontierland. Funny how things remain the same.

We will plan on that course of action.

We watched in Frontierland the day we had a CRT reservation at 3:50. It worked out great. We just followed the parade to Liberty Square then headed up past HM and the Rapunzel restrooms and on to CRT. No stress.

Do not do the FP for FoF. It won't even get to where you are until 3:25 or so. That will indeed cut it too close.

On our only day to see the 3pm parade (our other day we had a 2:20 lunch at BOG) we had a Splash Mountain FP for 2:30-3:30. We watched from Frontierland in front of the Trading Post and had plenty of time once the parade passed to make our FP. We had previously heard reports that maybe there was no fire breathing in Frontierland but it happened almost exactly in front of us. Perfection!! You should have plenty of time if you watch close to the beginning (maybe the Hall of Presidents?)!
