For those of you who have had, or are having an intimate wedding in the afternoon, were did you eat afterwards?

We may have to move the time of our intimate wedding to earlier in the day, Like 11:00 am. But we were planning on having a dinner celebration afterwards. Most Resort restraunts do not open until 5:00pm. What did you all do?

We are getting married at 11:00 and are thinking about lunch at the Kona Cafe. Almost every review I have read about it is good and they have a pretty varied menu. I think (but could be wrong) that the Whispering Canyon Cafe is also open for lunch. Good Luck!

I was married at 11am at the Polynesian. We had lunch at the Contemporary in the Concourse Steakhouse at, I believe, 1:35. They were very accomodating, and they were able to seat our entire party together. We had considered the Kona, but my family only eats food that they find familiar, so the Kona was out. Of course, everyone I have spoken to raves about the Kona.

For lunch options at WDW, unfortunately there's not a lot to choose from. But, in my experience, I've found three decent choices:

1.) Kona Cafe at Polynesian (very good food with an asian twist)
2.) Grand Floridian Cafe (food is good, menu is pretty "mainstream," and the setting is beautiful - very appropriate for a post-wedding luncheon)
3.) Brown Derby at the Disney-MGM Studios (best food of the bunch and most upscale setting of the three, but kind of a hassle to get to since it's inside the park).

Regarding Concourse Steakhouse, although the food is decent, it can be very loud in there at times and the setting doesn't compare to the restaurants I've mentioned above.

Good luck to you!

We had our wedding at 12:00 noon, and then went to afternoon tea at 2:30. After that, we had a break, then met up in the lobby of the GF for our wedding reception at the private room at V&A's. I think that the afternoon tea was overkill, in retrospect, because we were all pretty full after the cake reception that comes with the intimate wedding. If we had it to do over, we would have just had the cake cutting, then the break, then dinner. The break was nice, b/c Andy and I had each slept a total of maybe 2 hours the night before, so we were EXHAUSTED. We spent the night before our wedding apart, and I think that was adding to my nerves; I didn't sleep well at all, and neither did he.
Cheers!
Heather
