afternoon breaks & peak times

Will we likely need to schedule afternoon breaks from the park the way it is advised to do at WDW with kids.

If we did this on Dec. 31 would we still be able to get back in the park?

Are there places in either IofA or Studios to take these rests or have some down-time? I know in WDW many people have mentioned Aunt Polly's Island as an alternative to leaving the Parks. Is there something like this -- quieter, calmer, etc. -- at Universal?

Info from all of you especially any who have gone with kids and at peak times would be appreciated.

I usually take our downtime at the Universal Cineplex. It's a HUGE comfortable stadium seated movie theatre which is a wonderful way to get a nap or some sit down time in!
