I have been reading about the Afternoon Tea at the GF and I was wondering what everyone thought of it. My ILs are coming with us when we go in March and I thought it would be fun if Grandma, DD8, DD6, and I could have a girl's afternoon tea while Grandpa and Dad go rest at the resort. The only time that I think I could fit this in would be on our MK day. We like to go back to the resort to rest anyway so I thought I would send the guys back to the resort while the girls go off for the tea party and then we would meet back up with them again at MK later. Is there a special dress code to do this? And what is everyone's favorites that you get while having tea. Thanks for any input you can give.

I've done it twice with my girls and once with my girls and my MIL. We loved it! We have another one schedule for July. I wore nice capris and a nice top, the girls wore sundresses.

I always get the buckingham palace - love the pear and gorgonzola finger sandwich, the onion tart, the jam tart and the chocolate covered strawberries. My one dd doesn't like tea so she always orders hot chocolate!

done it twice with DD now 10 and once with DD and DS5. With just DD we dressed up and made it as fancy as possible (this was my cheaper version of the princess tea party at 1/20th the price and I made it just as special for her). With DS we wanted to keep it on the down low and just wore shorts, there was no pressure on him to perform or act a certain way for us and I let him take a small collection of toys in, in case he got done before us but he stilled loved it.

Thank you for the responses, they were all very helpful. I went ahead and made an ADR for the day that we are at MK. My DH and FIL are going to go back to the resort to relax while MIL, both DDs, and myself are going to go have some tea at GF. I am really excited about doing this, it looks like it is a lot of fun. :goodvibes

Is there a special dress code to do this?
. . . most folks wear pressed shorts
. . . some even wear dresses
. . . however, one does not see suits or sport jackets
. . . let's call it business casual
