After Twilight Check In at Gatwick

We always stay at a hotel the night before we fly to make our holiday a day longer. When flying by Virgin we love to do Twilight check in

Was just wondering what most people do a round Gatwick once they ve done the Twilight check in?

We usually check in around 3 and then make our way to the hilton or sofitel, we usually chill out in the room for a few hours and have then always gone around the shops in the south terminal before having a meal. But now all the shops have pretty much gone!
In May we just headed for a meal in the North terminal and back to the room. (we didn't mind as we got an upgrade at the hotel so the room was pretty nice)

We drive into Crawley and go to Pizza Hut.

I would normally look round the shops and get dinner at Frankie and Benny's - but neither are there anymore so I will probably go to the Costa coffee shop in the Hilton and chill until dinner time and then eat at the Hilton

Car will be in the carpark so can't travel off airport.

We would usually do exactly the same but now they are gone I don't know what we will do

We usually go to Burger King or get salads from Marks and Spencer and chill back at the hotel room.

Last time we did this we went for dinner at Giraffe and it was really good
I am sooooo excited that I tend to just push food around my plate but it's a great place for dinner anyway

When we went in May we arrived about 2:30 / 3:00 - checked in an lounged around in the Sofitel for a while. Then went to Giraffe for dinner and a few beers which was all lovely. Picked up a few drinks and sweets at the WHSmith, back to the room for bath, telly, fill out Customs form, book & bed (and trip report notes!).

I think we are planning to eat at Giraffe in October the night before we fly. I am very disappointed that the shops aren't there anymore though

I had hoped it was just a temporary thing while they refurbished the area.

OMG, when did Frankie and Benny's go? We always eat there the night before our flight. Has Gatwick changed a lot?

They closed everything back last year for refunb, but they are now turning the upstairs area into additional security. (this is what I was told by Gatwick)

We usually get our car out of the car park as fast as we can as it's so expensive and then go into Crawley for a look around and buy lottery-tickets for the duration of our holiday (bit of a tradition).
