Your Dress??

Your Cake Top??

Your Jewelery??

Your Shoes??

Your Flowers??

Your Candle??

Your Keepsakes??

for my 1997 wedding...I still have my dress, jewelry, candle.
my flowers I picked apart while getting a protrait @ WL & gave it to all the little girls watching(neat memory)
The shoes were sandals that I beat up really bad, so they got donated to charity
I didnt take the cake home, but Im not Big on cake,,,so I let my mom do whatever with it....i think I recall her saying it was a pretty darn good breakfast:lmao:
I still have my candle, but I did put it away
I didnt have much keepsakes except photos & video...& of course I still have that

But has anyone sold, borrowed, donated, heirloomed, their stuff

just curious

lets see here..

My dress is hanging in a spare closet still not cleaned...

My cake topper is in my curio cabinet with my bride & groom ears, dead flowers, marriage liscense, and the "wedding gift" that intimates get

My jewelry is in my jewelry dresser.... i can wear my pearls again along with the earrings..

My shoes-- i wore blue flip flops for something blue-- they are in my closet certainly wearable again.

My flowers are dead and in my curio cabinet. I couldnt part with them because they were once so beautiful

We didnt have a candle

All of our keepsakes are either in a box (the book we had to sign in at the reception, stuff like that) under the house or in the curio cabinet.

The cake itself-- we took it down to the lobby of the WL and gave it to the employees at the whispering canyon cafe-- we were married on Tuesday and checked out on Saturday-- I didnt feel comfortable eating it after that length of time -- but they didnt mind:confused3 so they were appreciative and ate it
We brought the top of the cake home and is now in the freezer-- we hope to pull it out in November.

My mom found this awesome vendor that takes your flowers, freeze dries them and puts them along with anything else you want in a shadow box. So in this box will be my bouquet (not dead), my garter, my tiara, wedding program and a picture of us. I can't wait to get it!:goodvibes

My dress is preserved in a box in the closet
Candle is in our display cabinet along with our cake topper, invitation, cake server, etc.
Jewelry and shoes are still wearable and I am sure I will use them again!

My dress~ I am gonna have the train made into a baby blanket and save the rest of the dress

Shoes~ I can definately wear again

Bouguet ~ I made a silk one. So will put in display case

Cake topper, vase (for rose ceremony), guest book~ will all do in our Disney room/ office

Jewelry is all borrowed from my Mom

My dress is preserved in a box under the bed at my parents.
My jewelery I wear.
My shoes are in my closet.
My garder, veil and odds & ends are in a hat box under my bed.
Cake got eaten.
Chocolate castle topper got eaten.

cake top: the topper is in my hope chest, the top layer is in the freezer till next year!:goodvibes

Jewelry: it was nothing fancy or special so i can wear it again

shoes: i wore white ballet type shoes with a very very small flat looking heel, i think i am going to dye them a fun color and wear around

Flowers: i deid them out and they are in a vase in the guest bathroom

candle: it was borrowed from florist, don't have it. haha

keepsakes: all the otther little "things" like my program, shwer invites, extra invites will go in a box in my hope chest. I got one of those lenox double frames where you put a pic in one side and an invitaiton on one side so i can display it, its really cute!

good luck in whatever you do! i am SO sentimental, so I can't throw ANYTHING away!:confused3

Good thread . . .

My Gown - I didn't have it professionally preserved. I didn't even have it cleaned. I bought a preservation box on-line and acid free tissue paper and folded it up and it's in the box under our bed. I put it on for our first anniversary - a little wrinkled but not bad (and a little big :) )

My Cake Top - in-laws took it home after the ceremony and froze it. We cut into it on our first anniversary. It still tasted incredible! DH was not too keen on year old frozen cake so he had only one bite, but I ate 3 pieces :upsidedow

My Jewelery - in my jewelry box and I still wear it.

My Shoes - I loved those shoes! If I find a dress they'll work with I'll wear them again, they're gorgeous and really comfy. Right now they're in the box with my gown, tiara, purse, garter, and DH's tie - all safely wrapped in acid free tissue.

My Flowers - I tried to dry my bouquet but since it was just stubs (fake stems) they fell out and rotted :sad2: I was only able to save one little rose. DH's bout dried perfectly. MOH's wand dried too and she has it on her wall at college.

My Candle - didn't have one. I had a vase with my mom's remembrance rose in it and that's in my china cabinet.

My Keepsakes - I took out the "inards" of the special secret gift box and in there I store the champagne cork, the one flower I saved from my bouquet, the dime and penny from my shoe (family tradition), and the handkerchief that belonged to my mom which I pinned up in my dress crinoline. That box is on my bookcase in my living room with our Mickey & Minnie cake topper (which wasn't on our cake, we had a custom cake, so it was boxed up for us), and a double frame with our invitation/wedding picture, the album Disney sends you, and a few other wedding pictures. I think one day I'll get tired of all that and store it away, but for now I still like looking at it. The Disney Wedding Certificate is in a box with my bridal shower bow bouquet, and bachelorette parties favors :goodvibes

I donated the dress to the Brides Against Breast Cancer division of the Making Memories charity. For any of you who aren't familiar with this group they take donated wedding (and any formal dress) and sell them. The profits grant dying wishes to women with terminal breast cancer. At a gown sale I volunteered at last weekend (when I donated the dress), we made a little over $15,000!

Didn't really have much of a cake topper. It was a very simple design. The top layer is in the freezer at my mother's house. I'm not sure we'll eat it though. :crazy2: Not real crazy about the idea of year-old cake.

I wore pearls, which I obviously still have and plan to have the tiara made into a crystal necklace. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

The shoes: should probably donate them, but I have a thing about feet :scared1: I can't imagine wearing someone else's shoes.... or them wanting to wear mine.

Didn't have a unity candle. Still have tons of votives. If anyone in the Carolina's in interested in them, let me know. You can have 'em.

My mother tried to dry the petals from my bouquet, but sealed the plastic box before the were completely dry. Mold city! Not pretty! Tossed 'em.

Everything else is going in a scrapbook....whenever I finally get around to it :rolleyes1

Great thread!

Your Dress?? It is preserved & boxed. I look at it all the time!

Your Cake Top?? We had about 2 weeks until we would arrive back home, we ate it in our bed one night while still in Disney,

Your Jewelery?? In my jewelry box, I wore my grandmother's pearls.

Your Shoes?? I wore ivory flip flops with crystals. They got very dirty so I threw them out.

Your Flowers?? We tried preserving them but they looked awful, I saved the riboon & crystal initials and butterflies.

Your Candle?? Didn't have one.

Your Keepsakes?? In a giant zip lock bag at the top of my closet, still looking for the perfect curio cabinent.

I do have my minnie bridal ears & dh's groom mickey hat hun over our mirror in the bedroom.
