does the park tend to empty out after the fireworks on weekends??? I know it looks like it'll be open until midnight and the fireworks are at 9:30ish...does anyone know if that last two hours will die out or if its still atleast moderate crowds?? Thanks

There is always a mass exodus after the fireworks, I wouldn't say it completely empties out, but it is certainly much more doable.

If you go to the Fantasyland entrance between the Teacups and Storybook Canal Boats and wait for the "post-fireworks" rope drop there (the first admittance point into FL after fireworks) you can actually do everything in Fantasyland within 1 hour.

Other areas empty even faster, so I would say defintiely worth it.

We were there last week (and I thought it was fairly crowded each day we were there). The park definitely clears out after the fireworks but we didn't have much luck in Fantasyland. We found it to be rather crowded when we stopped by after the fireworks and the lines were long enough that we didn't stick around. I'm sure every day is different though and it doesn't hurt to check out the lines each night.

We had no problem with rides toward the back of the park (BTMRR, POTC, HM, etc.) after the fireworks but I think Space Mountain was still a fairly long line and the Matterhorn looked like a long line also.

We had the best luck with rides right when the park opened. Try going on Space Mountain in the front car with wet hair :rotfl2:. My daughter and I had a blast and I doubt we'll get to experience that again--we wondered if they hadn't adjusted the speed--it seemed like we were flying :yay:! It definitely woke us up and started us off in a great mood!

We always stay after the fireworks. The lines for the rides don't drop as much as you'd think they would based on how many people leave the park after the fireworks. Navigating the park becomes much easier though because less people are meandering around. On a summer day or weekend, Space Mtn seems to stay between 45-60 mins all the way till closing. Indy will drop to about 45 mins. BTMRR will be relatively long because people like riding it at night (like 25 min wait). Fantasyland begins to really clear out the last hour the park is open. We can usually do all FL rides from 10:30 to midnight as long as we make Peter Pan the last ride and get in line for it just before closing (as long as you're in line by midnight they'll let you on). Of course, this is just my experience and I'm sure it varies from day to day.

For me and my family, it was one of the best time to do rides. We were at the DLR from 3/15-3/20 (defiantly a very busy time at the parks). After the fireworks on Wednesday night, me and my GF we were able to hit Matterhorn, TeaCups, Pirates and Haunted in about an hour.

Though this may not sound like a lot to some...we defiantly took our time strolling around the park and just enjoying the magic DL had to offer.

The next night we came back and did Buzz, Matterhorn and Indiana Jones in about the same amount of time.

If I can offer a tip....I would watch the fireworks right around the Tomorrowland entrance. Especially if you want to get a short line on Space Mountain, it's an easy walk, and you'll beat the majority of the crowd!
