2 questions...during the AP preview do they let non-holders in to fill the ride or is it AP only...

AND on Mon will the ride be open to everyone or will they hold off until the 5/5 opening date?

I was just down in Orlando last week and Soarin is open now. It isn't shown on any of the maps nor advertised anywhere. However, we were able to ride it with no wait nor APs.

In the past during Annual Passholder attraction previews, most CMs carefully checked APs. They are supposed to only let valid Annual Passholders onto the attraction during these events. In other words, the attraction might be in unofficial/'soft opening' now, but AP-holders should be the only ones that 'Disney' lets on the attraction this coming weekend.

agnes!

I believe this weekend it will be for AP's only. You will have to show your pass to get in. After that I'm not sure if they will go back to letting everyone in or not.

I hope we can get on next week it looks like so much fun...we were planning on going to EPCOT on Sun so may have to bop back over another day to try again...does it have a fass pass?

Yes it will have a fast pass. You will need to show an AP for the Soarin preview. They haven't opened the Land yet so don't think they will open Soarin up for everyone until they do.

This weekend is for AP holders only. They will be checking passes before entering. This past weekend was for Castmembers only, and believe me, they checked IDs (we were with a castmember when we went). Someone had come up at one point, asking if anyone else would be allowed to go on the ride & the CM said no.

Therefore, unless you're an AP holder or you just get lucky sometime other than this weekend, I wouldn't count on getting on the ride until it's opened.

Last week Wednesday they were soliciting people to go on it (my inlaws were asked while we were at the Princess breakfast) then we walked up later and they let us and anyone who wanted on it. There was a sign about being a cast member preview but no one checked ID's or anything. The offical entrance was not open. We entered through the 'alley' to the right of Honey I shrunk the Audience. What a great ride!

Here is the deal...

They have been letting limited numbers of random guests onto the ride to give the cast members practice loading and unloading people. The official previews themselves though are only for Cast Members, AP's, or DVC.

They may or may not allow other guests to ride at unanounced times though to basically give the CM's at Soarin' something to do. They did this when I was in FL for spring break, which was to make sure the CM's were good at handling guests, making sure the lines were as they needed them, and practice running the ride with people on it.

There really isn't a way of knowing if or when they will do this unless you actually walk over there and look. I have a friend who works on Soarin', and he said that he doesn't even know if they are going to let people on for what they call the "sneak peek" until he gets into work. Like I said, it's completely unanounced - but if there is a line over by the land & figment - Jump in!
