I guess it's fair to say ever since Earl of Sandwich has been opened it's been very popular because at certin times of the day their lines can get very long, although it does move very fast. Anyway I was wondering after Pollo Campero opens in the old McDonald's location will that mean less lines at Earl of Sandwich, because everyone will want to go there since it will be brand new.

Ummmm, I don't think anyone can really answer that question with any validity? It would simply be a matter of guessing or opinion?

I wouldn't have the foggiest notion if there would be a reduction in sales at Earl of Sandwich because another restaurant opened. It would depend upon many factors, no? Particularly if the food offered at the new place was so different that people who would go there wouldn't have gone to Earl of Sandwich anyway?

One question that would probably need to be answered for any sort of guess at this would be: Will Pollo Campero accept the dining plan?

If they don't, then the lines will still be at Earl of Sandwich as long as the dining plans remain highly popular.

It might mean more lines at Earl if the masses at DTD don't take to Pollo Campero (which sells no meat other than chicken) but there isn't any way to know how PC will go over until it's actually open and selling.

Nothing but chicken? That's it ... we're not even going to bother to try to eat there. :rotfl2:

I know for us at least, the closing of the McDonalds means I'll finally get to try Earl of Sandwich! My kids always wanted to eat at McDonalds when we went to DTD.

If they will have some sort of vegetarian offerings, we might try it. My husband and son love chicken, so this good be a neat place to try on upcoming trips.

I am actually looking forward to Pollo Campero...haven't eaten in one since we don't have one in Kansas! I am a Mom to two girls who were born in Guatemala (where PC got it's start) and am very excited to see it successfully coming to the US. Many of my friends who are lucky enough to have one nearby rave about it. But---I wouldn't count on decreased lines anywhere when it opens---usually it seems that they bring in the crowds for a while anywhere they open.

From a newpaper article from an opening in Rhode Island last October...

The new Pollo Campero location will highlight the traditions and heritage of the Central American community in Providence. When the restaurant opened its first New England location in Chelsea, Massachusetts, more than 20,000 people flocked to the location each day in the first month of its opening.
