I must be totally honest I have read 50% say the bussing is terrible and the other 50% say is fine. We are there 12/18-26 and I am really wondering if I am better off with a Taxi while there vs. a bus. We will not rent a car for our trip, to much hassel.

so does anyone know were the bus stops first at POR so maybe with some luck I can end up over in that area??? coarse I could always call POR and ask too but thought you guys would know better then them sometimes it seems we know things before the staff there does:rotfl: :lmao:

AND POFQ only has 1 stop .

I know when we were there for last holloween most of the time POR had it's own buses as it got kinda busy.

That time of the year you may see the same thing.

We had a Rental and only used it to go off-sight and once to the waterpark. And we Hop everyday with a small break at the resort.

maybe your right maybe they will have another set of buses for POR, wonder if I call and ask if they will tell me, or even know the answer

The West Depot was first when we were there in May '06, followed by North, East, and South (Main) last. I'm sure you're going to read from others that the Main depot is first, but others will agree with me and say the West is first. A few days ago one poster said that West is first stop first thing in the morning - which is when we always got to the depot (before 8:00).

Count me in the 50% who say the buses are fine. I'm not saying that I don't believe that some people have had bad service on occasion - hey, I'm sure people at all resorts have had transportation issues from time to time. But they are NOT always crowded and "a nightmare." We always had a seat on the way to the parks. We stood several times after leaving the parks, but that can also happen anywhere.

I'm not an impatient person, so waiting 10 minutes for a bus doesn't bother me. I would never rent a car or hire a cab unless I had an ADR that I was about to miss. Good luck, and I hope you have good bus service, too! :goodvibes

Count me in as the 50% who say the bus service is terrible. I'm sure it really depends on the time of year you go but my experience has been over corwded buses. Sometimes the POFQ buses do even go to POR because they are full.

I looked on the map and saw were is says West and East etc, SO if I am in Alligator Bayou were does that fall as far as bus pick up?? That was our area we requested, I am trying to figure out were should walk to catch the bus

It will depend on what room you wind up with. With AB, you could be closest to any of the Main/South, West, or North depots/bus stops. AB are the smaller buildings on the map -- buildings 14 through 38 (or something like that). The larger blocks on the map are the mansion section.

We've stayed at POR several times and I'm in the 50% who say the transportation is fine. You're going during a very busy time for all of WDW. The bus system is very good, but will always have challenges during busy times and everyone will not be happy. I understand that they have an on-demand system in place as well, so they can dispatch busses where needed when needed.

I was there in February '06 and to be honest I didn't think the busses were a huge issue. Never a problem getting one in the morning. Sometimes there were long lines at the end of the day and you might have to stand. In my opinion it beats having to arrange your own transportation!

Ditto! :thumbsup2

We were in AB25 and it was just a short (3-4 minute) walk to the West Depot. On the map it looks like AB 24, 25, 34, and 35 are the closest to the West Depot.

I don't know how much of an early bird you are, but the other thing I would advise is to be at the depot by 8:00 or earlier each morning. We did that and it worked out great. We would get to the park about 30 minutes before opening, line up to get in, and be able to do all the big attractions before the crowds came.
