we just finished our 5th DCL and are thinking of Hawaii in 2020

so my question is will we be gold when we book Hawaii or do we have to wait until we actually go to Hawaii

just wondering when we can book at the silver level or gold since we already did 5 crusies

thanks all

If you've COMPLETED 5 cruises, you are now gold. You can book on the Gold booking day.

You are gold. It probably already shows on your Castaway Club page.

As long as they were all eligible cruises. If any were at special super low rate like CM discounts or other really low rates, those will not count - from DCL's website "Please note: Sailings purchased at select fare types (such as Media, Vendors and Cast Traveling on Business) are not considered eligible cruises when calculating the number of sailings for Castaway Club levels."

We discovered that when the check-in and port adventure selection date for my parents for their 50th anniversary cruise was Silver when they had taken 5 cruises. One or two of theirs were at the "Friends and Family" rate my sister was able to get them.

But your Castaway Club page should show which level you are regardless.

You can check your status by logging into the dcl website and choosing castaway club.

Correction... Cast Member rates *may* not count. Or the rules have changed. I just know from experiencing thinking my parents would be Gold and discovering they were only silver that at least some do not.

This is correct, Dug720. Some CM rates DO count toward CC level counts. :cutie:

this is strange--I went to DCL and then clicked castaway club and put in my email and password and got a message

that said sorry but we are having trouble retriving your castaway club ID

yet I can go under other parts of the website like under my profile everything is there--before our last cruise which was just this month I could look up anything about the cruise like tours and things like that

any ideas why I cant get into CC

also what were some of the tours you could pick from for Hawaii--weve been there 4 times already but never on a cruise and theres still some things

we want to see and do

thanks all

I would try logging out completely and then logging back in, perhaps even in a different browser. For some reason the DCL site is glitchy about cross-accessing certain portions of your account. I find I have to log out and then go back in and go to the area I previously could not. Weird.... some folks have better look using less common browsers.

As for Hawaii cruise shore excursions, I booked private tours on Kauai and the Big Island. And because we visit Maui often, I just rented a car there and booked my own preferred luau, and did our own thing. I know DCL did have some pretty great looking tour options. They will have them up as soon as the opening day is here I would imagine. And opening day is almost HERE! Yay!

Our last Hawaii cruise (yes, we've done 2, one DCL, one Princess), on Oahu, we took The Bus out to Waikiki Beach and just hung around there for a while (also had lunch at McDonalds). Maui we booked a private whale watching tour. Kauai we rented a car and drove around (visited the hotel we stayed at for our honeymoon, oh so many years ago). Also rented a car on the the big island, and drove out to where the recent volcano destroyed everything (before it happened).
