I will be checking in on Jan 3 at OKW, but my Florida seasonal pass is NOT good until Jan 4!!
Is there a charge to go to Pleasure Island?
What other activities available for the first afternoon/evening (Wife, myself and 7 year old Grandson*
thanks

I think Pleasure Island is $21.95, but I'm sure it's less for Florida people. You might want to go over to BWV to walk along the boardwalk. It's free, but if you want to pay a bit you could play the games there. There is also ESPN video area, and the restaurant. I hate the place, but the boys love it there! You might also try the piano bar there--I think you have to be over 21 at night, though, so you will need to check about your grandson. The decorations might still be up, so maybe you would like to walk around looking at them both at BW and over at Yacht and Beach. Minigolf is nearby, too, over by Swan and Dolphin. You could also do a movie at Downtown Disney, or if you have TONS of money, you might spring for DisneyQuest. There are so many things to do at Disney, but these are our favorites.

Hi Bob-

When we are looking for something to do we usually just explore the shops at the West Side or Downtown Disney and/or grab something to eat. There's a great magic shop on the West Side where they do tricks, but you have to buy the trick for them to teach you.

Believe it or not, we've also just gone to the AMC movie theater to kill an afternoon or evening. My only stipulation is it has to be a Disney movie, but I think it would be neat to see either Brother Bear or Haunted Mansion right there in Disney.

You can take the boat over from OKW.

Just a couple of suggestions for some low cost activities until your pass kicks in the next day.

There are plenty of things to do at WDW besides going to the parks. I would not take a 7 year old to Pleasure Island at night when they charge. Try Disney Quest over on the West Side.

last trip we went to The Polynesian had dinner then watched Wishes from the beach. You could also go to the CR and watch the fireworks from there.

AKL for early dinner then you could see the animals at viewing areas before.

We enjoy spending an evening at DTD just exploring the stores and playing at Lego land. Try dinner at Rainforest or some other place at DTD, and get an early to bed time so you can hit the parks EARLY in the morning! A 7 YO will need an early bedtime anyway! Enjoy!

Grocery store!!!

ride the silly monrail so your family won't be begging for it for the rest of the trip.

the Polyn is a great place to eat at - as Magicinmyheart says - the fireworks are nice and you can watch the EWP from the beach here - if you want.

go visit the resort shops and see what if anything is on sale!!! I generally don't buy until the last day - but I like to know what is available (and on sale) before I buy anything.

read the activities list that the front desk gives you - it should be on the back on the map - if not - you need to go back to the front desk and get one. Make sure that you know what is happening when - so you can plan around that.

get the park schedules from the lobby - so you can also plan for the live shows

if you have the money - one of the cruises.

go to each resort and do the coin stamping thing or the pin collection thing.
