After calling for ADR's I'm so disappointed...

I booked an impromtu trip for Dec 4th after getting a pin code this past weekend. So yesterday I made my list and tried calling... I didn't get anything I really wanted. There were no Fantasmic packages the whole week, no CRT cancelations(not that I really expected) no dinner times at LTT or Tony's which I wanted to do the night we're there for the Xmas party. Well there was one at 6:20 but wouldn't we miss the begining of the Xmas party?? Couldn't get LeCellier the whole week.

Ugh, we've never been during Christmas before, and the last time we went, we stayed at SOG and ate there most of the time... so this is really my 1st trip, of planning and trying to get ADR's for every day. I was really excited yesterday and now I'm depressed. I actually thought about cancelling last night. Or atleast dropping the dinning.

I'd love any encouragement... I'm not familiar with all the restaurants. I'd love to hear some suggestions, of different places to try. Thanks in advance for any advice or ideas.

Unfortunately you have listed some of the hardest to get reservations for any time of year, let alone less than 90 days out. I am sure there is plenty of availability at plenty of other restaurants.

Fantasmic Dinner packages go fast. However, they usually release later times about 30 days before, so you might have luck getting one then. We personally think the package is a waste, so I wouldn't be too concerned about this one.

CRT- Easily the hardest to get reservation on property. Keep trying though, you may snag a cancellation. Also, don't forget that the princesses are at lunch two, so you really have two meals to try for.

All the MK restaurants (especially LTT) will be full for the early times the night of MVMCP. I would look at the restaurants at some of the monorail resorts. We are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare the evening of our party.

Le Cellier is a small and popular restaurant, so it isn't surprising it is all booked. Don't forget that it is also part of the Candlelight Processional package, so most of the Epcot restaurants will be busier than normal for dinner in December.

With the dining plan and all the special events going on in December it isn't surprising that the restuarants are busy. Just try some of the less popular restuarants and you shouldn't have a problem. Also, keep checking for cancellations.

I got a CRT easily last time we went, (90 days out of course) so our daughter is expecting it this time.. I did try for lunch also, but none of those either all week. I'll keep trying for cancelations.

I'll have to consider the monorail resorts the night of the party, it might be a good break from the park since we're planning to actually be there that day. I didn't even think of that. Like I said this is my first real time planning this stuff out in advance and I need all the help I can get.

Do you not enjoy the fantasmic show or just not the package, we've never been to the show, just wanted to try it since I've heard so much about it. Trying to do some things we never got to last time, I don't think we did any shows, when we were there in February. I'm hoping to get some more in this time.

Maybe you should consider to go eat at a resort restaurant, there's so much choices, between Chef Mickey's at CR 5 min from MK, or 1900 Park Fare at GF, and 'Ohanna at Poly. I heard that at Epcot the japanese is great, San Angel or Akershus with the princess.

Yes you had great choice but there's so much more!! Don't get depress, keep looking and call often to see if there's some cancellation!!!

Good luck! :goodvibes

We have Ohanna for the first night we're there since we're staying at the Poly, and when I couldn't get LeCellier I got San Angel for that night.
Thanks for the suggestions!

On the day of the party I would suggest leaving the park for a few hours, getting dinner elsewhere early and coming back to enjoy the party. We have found all day at the park with the party to be too much. The party adds another level of excitement and tends to wear you down a little more then a regular park day, IMHO.

We plan the party day as either a sleep in day, swim, mini golf, OR early park with break at lunch time. We eat dinner at resort and then head over to the party. Works out great.

As for ADRs ...keep trying. They change all the time.
Fantasmic package is not necessary. If they are showing 2 shows the night you will be there, go to the 2nd show, don't need the package, there will be plenty of seats. If there is only one show, you will have to be there early if you want a decent seat regardless of package or not. Package seats are ok...not the best.

We do like Hollywood and Vine- if we are going to eat there we get the package- doesn't cost extra- use the pass to walk up the pass entrance and sit where we want- usually not in the reserved section.

I love Fantasmic! We just don't think the package is a good deal. The seats reserved for the package are not the best (far right side of the theater) and you still have to get their at least 30 minutes ahead of time. 30 minutes before show time, they open up those seats to anyone. I also don't like the restaurants at MGM that much, and I don't like the package options. I think it is expensive and would prefer to eat on our own at the restaurant. Also, if the show would get cancelled due to weather, you usually do not get any type of refund.

We have never had a problem getting in to see the show and we have never arrived more than an hour ahead of time (we usually go in the summer). Yes, we haven't always had the best seats, but they are no worse than the package seats. In fact, this June, we got seats in the center section about 30 minutes before show time for the first showing. I agree, if there are two showings, the second is always much less busy.

Keep trying for the ones you want, even up to the day you arrive in the parks/resort.

Also, regarding Fantasmic, I think they are very much like CRT and release tables at various times as the event gets closer.

I have tried for Fantasmic later than 5 p.m. for about a month and they finally said that they wouldn't open those up until about 3 weeks before the event (Thanksgiving week for me). I still call about once a week just to check since I have heard of others getting later nights. I'll let you know my success or failure.

We will be there the same time :wave2:

I had to be pretty flexible with my times but we were able to get everything we wanted. I did call at the 90 day mark because of the problems I read about with ADRs lately.

Keep trying! I'm sure there will be many cancellations! I hope you get you want!

We've got a 5 pm ADR the night of MVMCP at Kona's. There have been very good reviews of Kona's food lately. I actually had an ADR at 5 pm at LTT, but cancelled it as all of that heavy food followed by the party seemed too much -- usually after Thanksgiving dinner, I just want to sleep. If you really want Le Cellier, keep trying for Lunch -- it's easier to get into.

Fantasmic itself is WONDERFUL. It really should not be missed. They also have lunch packages I believe, so you could try that. Lunch earlier in the day then stay for the show. When we went we didn't even try to do the package, we just arrived at MGM about 1.5 hrs before the show and got dinner at counter service then walked over to enjoy the show. DD LOVED the entire show and so did I. Even without the package our seats were great! I wouldn't do anything differently!

I'm disappointed, too. :( I added dining to my reservation today, so it's my own fault, but I expected I would at least get ONE of the places I wanted to go! Now I'm considering cancelling the dining and just going offsite for dinners.

I wouldn't do that if I were you, you're gonna lose a lot of time going to eat offs-site. Theres so much nice restaurant at Disney, cant beleive that you cannot find something else... :confused3

Keep on serching, and call back disney to see whats available. What's the restaurants you wanted???

Don't give up! We planned our trip after the 90 day mark and except for CRT (and I do gave princess storybook booked) I have everything I want, even mostly the times I really want. I just call pretty much every day and things are constantly changing.
When I called today trying to make a crt ressie for next week, the cm told me not to quit trying. She said they actually had a couple of CRT cancellations for next week earlier today.
Don't give up! Persistance and pixie dust will do it!

I really wanted Le Cellier steakhouse and Liberty Tree Tavern and they had no availability for any of the days I was going to be there. (Oh, except for 8:40 one night at Le Cellier, but that won't work for me with two small children.)

I was able to book the Yachtsman, 'Ohana, Crystal Palace and Chip & Dale's Harvest Feast. I'm still looking into other options for the other days and will continue trying to call in case of cancellations, but I'm a little bummed. And my husband is flat-out disappointed about Le Cellier. *sigh* Can you tell that we are Disney dining neophytes?

I've had our trip planned for months, but just started planning our days. I decided against Cindy's and thought the other Princess breakfast at Norway would not be a problem, well I was wrong, my TA says there are no breakfasts available for that week (after Thanksgiving). I did book Chef Mickey's for dinner before the MVMCP, thought ahead for that one!!

I will try calling myself to see if I can get what I want.

Did you try Le Cellier for lunch???

I just sent you 2 private messages. Please read ASAP and remember "When you wish upon a star...."

I know I just cancelled my Fantasmic dinner package (because of reserved seating through another means) and I'm thinking some others might too. I would just keep trying, persistence really seems to pay off.
