DS graduated today from the Unveristy of Cincinnati, after 5 years, with a degree in Science in Education. He is an Intervention Specialist highly licensed in reading. He already has a job to start teaching at the start of next year!

He presented his dad and I with a stole of gratitude. That was so very special to us.

He is no longer a student. He is now a TEACHER! Our family is floating on cloud nine.

Congrats to all of you graduates out there!

Congratulations!! My parents still love telling people I am ateacher now ( i am just about to finish my first year teaching Kindergarten!)

Thank you everyone.

I am sure your parents are extremely proud. I hope you had a great first year!

I put together a book/binder for my son and gave it to him today. I had family members and close friends write letters to him. Then I alternated them with teacher quotes and prayers. He loved it. I can't wait for him to start getting his classroom ready before school. If he will let me, I will help him. I am so excited for him.

Thanks--they are very proud and this year was fantastic.
Tell him to definitely let you help set up the room! It was so stressful in the very beginning and all help was appreciated! My grandmother is actually insisting on coming in to help me clean up my classroom!

UC Alumnus here - Class of 1983 - congratulations to your son. You have every right to be proud.

Wonderful, and to be graduating with a job to go to is a bigger plus!!! :yay:

We certainly love our Bearcats!

Today is his celebration party and the weather could not be more beautiful!

Thanks again to everyone.

Congrats to your son! I congratulate him even more since he has a teaching job lined up. I hope you all have a wonderful celebration. What grade will he be teaching?

Fantastic! Now for some unsolicited advice: encourage him to start his Masters ASAP...well, maybe not his first year of teaching, but soon!

Well, the weather was pretty nasty for a while, but we made it. Everyone stayed even through the bad weather. I told my son they must all really like him to stick around the way they did. He is going to be teaching high school. He teaches Special Education. He will be teaching a class with a combination of grades 9-12.

Thanks. He is planning on taking a year off and then starting his masters. If I am not mistaken, he has to have his masters within five years.
