Does anybody else think Disney should offer DVC members discounted, after 4pm Park Tickets, especially at Epcot, like they do for Florida residents?

I never heard of after 4 PM tix for Florida residents when I lived there (2004-2006), only for conference attendees. :confused3

I'd never heard of a LOT of the things in this thread until reading it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

Written by a CM who apparently sold/sells tickets, it's a MUST read. VERY informative. Covers virtually everything you ever wanted to know about tickets and ticketing and some things you didn't even know you WANTED to know. LOL

This is covered in the 3rd or 4th post down. :)

I think there used to be an after 4 Epcot annual pass for FL residents. Not sure if it is still available. I don't know that it would be popular for DVC members. Residents could use it to go to Epcot after work for dinner but why would a non-resident DVC member want it? You're only going to Epcot after 4:00?

I think it could be useful for DVC members. Many members go and stay for weeks vs. days. The trips are more traditional vacations (healthy doses of Rest and Relaxation) than those who come down for 4 or 5 days and spend a day at each park with hardly any time for much else. That said, on those days you choose to spend at the pool, waterpark, non-Disney theme park, etc., it would be nice to affordably enter Epcot for Dinner or a stroll through the Countries with your favorite adult beverage.

I would be really interested in this if it were cheaper than the 10-day, park-hopper, non-expiry.

I have an annual pass but sometimes travel with my daughter and sometimes travel with my husband so they have the 10 day hoppers. A cheaper option to go to Epcot for dinner and spend a few hours would be attractive. I can't imagine it happening unless there is a strong downturn in park attendance which I sure didn't see last week. They just don't need to offer something like this.

I don't see much purpose in that for us. I love my APs and woudn't know how to vacation without them.

I agree. With the frequency of my trips thanks to DVC and the lovely discount on APs, it makes much more sense for me to just get and renew APs each year. I never worry about whether it "pays" to use a ticket.

I agree with this. I would definitely be interested for the right price. We've done APs in the past, but with the kids getting a little older, and fewer bargain airfares to be found, it's more difficult to get our money's worth from the APs. I'm thinking seriously about the 10-day non-expiring tickets for next time.

I would love this pass. I can see many DVC trips in our future where we do not do any parks. BUT I do love Epcot, especially for eating dinner and strolling around WS in the evening. I'd love an after 4 Epcot only pass.

What's the consensus on this? How many Park Days before the 10-day non-expiring works out to be the better deal? We usually do AP's because they're easier, but we too are traveling less to The World due to higher travel costs.

It would be a nice new perk if they offered this type of ticket to DVC members whether it was at a discount or not. At present the only discount for DVC members on tickets is for the AP. An after 4pm ticket for Epcot would be a great option to have. :thumbsup2

We renew our AP's.

If you go so often to get an annual pass you wouldn't need anything to eat at Epcot. If you are going to be in WDW so many times that you would love to eat in Epcot 20 times or so, wouldn't you also want to go to another park?

These comments are based on my understanding that these are "Special type of ANNUAL Florida residents passes." They are not 1 use media.

Your correct Bobbi. The Epcot After 4 Florida Resident Pass is for a year. The cost is $127.00 for adults.

I guess when I said this could work because DVC members tend to spend weeks vs. days at Disney, I was probably speaking for those who "weeks" means 2 or 3 vs. for those who "weeks" can mean many more.

Right now, if my math is correct, the cheapest option would cost my wife and me no less than $80 or so just to enter Epcot. I just think it would be nice to have a cheaper option, of course with restrictions (i.e. after 4pm, weekdays or Mon-Thur, etc.)

Disney wants DVCers using APs. With an AP, people are prone to want to take that "one more trip before the pass expires." Too many of those extra trips leads to an add-on.

I also think that DVC members using APs don't do much to maximize the value of the park admission, either. AP holders visit for a couple hours...go to 2 or 3 attractions...hopefully (in Disney's eyes) spend $100 on a nice meal...and then leave.

By comparison, if you give people access to "after 4pm" admission at a reduced price, they will still try to cram an entire day's worth of attractions in that limited time block.

I just don't see the "after 4 EPCOT only" pass as being an advantage. We generally travel 2x a year, 9 to 10 nights per stay. We enjoy all the parks at a leisurely pace, and enjoy dining in all the parks as well.

And the only park where an "after 4" pass would even be feasible is EPCOT, the other parks close too early in the off season. I'd also expect cuts are coming, with the high cost of travel, similar to those actions we saw when tourism dropped after 9-11. You'll not only see a decrease in tourism because of the travel/gas costs, but an increase in park operating expenses that we didn't see after 9-11 because of higher overall energy costs. The tourism factor hasn't really hit yet, because a lot of travel plans were made prior to the major gas price increases, and pre-paid.

I think if you are the kind of person who doesn't park hop, and doesn't care all that much about Future World, it might be worth it to buy a MYW base ticket and an EPCOT after 4 pass. You can spend your days at one of the other 3 parks with the MYW ticket and then go to EPCOT at night with an after 4 pass. I haven't done the math-maybe it doesn't make sense to buy tickets that way. Either way, it wouldn't work for us now with our kids, but it's always good to have different options.

I would love an after 4p. park ticket option. As DVC owner's, chances are you have been to the parks enough where you don't always need to stay "all day". Since I own at BWV, I would love to have that pass for dinner ressie's at Epcot.

I thought about this too ... but I think the 'Park Hopper' option is only like $3 per day on a 7-10 day pass. It's the No Expiry that gets expensive.

Where this could maybe work is if you did something else during the day and limited your Epcot visits until after 4pm. So you would never/rarely use your MYW pass for Epcot?
