Posting here to share as our family members and friends have always rolled their eyes when we mentioned being interested in DVC. Want to share with those who would ‘happy dance’ with me! Thank you for letting me share here (and for teaching me so much over the years)!

I have researched here so much over the past 15 years and struggled with deciding on home resort, use year and debating our vacation plans as our kid’s ages were so varied. The timing never seemed right.

DH and I had our first ‘couples’ trip ever over Memorial Day 2020. We visited a number of resorts we had not ever been to and that helped remove some from the list. We also decided that it would be nice to be ‘forced’ to take a couple’s week or weekend more often to take a break from work stress.
DH really, really liked the Riviera. We spent some time at the pool bar and just relaxed. We both really enjoyed it! I did not like the idea of restricted points…..
We have very young grandchildren now. First trip with them is upcoming on rented points (I know, not the smartest move but we were still so undecided 2 months ago and not in agreement on Riviera and room availability at Disney appeared to be shrinking - I was nervous). We will enjoy it anyway!

We see many more trips for ourselves, with the kids/grandchildren and possibly a girls weekend or two.

DH sat down with me yesterday and we worked through future plans. He agreed that it makes sense for us to be members! We have spent so much for rooms over the years and it’s not going to stop and the prices keep rising. He wanted Riviera and I said let’s do it! We called. Our points are in our account already!
Poor guy, I’m already prepping him for Poly in 2024, lol!

So excited to be members and looking forward to making so many more memories with family and friends!!! Have to admit when our guide told us Welcome Home, my eyes teared up - I’ve waited a long time to make this happen!!!

Yay!! Congrats! It was 12 years for us and then finally in 2020 it finally just made sense - can totally relate. And our first resort was also Riviera - love it! Addonitis has hit twice already (2 resale contracts at Grand Cal) and we are excitedly awaiting Disneyland Tower. Many magically moments ahead for you - Welcome Home!

Congratulations and Welcome Home!! We love being members. Cannot believe it has been 20 years! Just made our first add-on purchase. I have resisted the urge every time a new resort opened but Grand Flo is my absolute favorite resort and I have been kicking myself for years for not buying when we could. So we did last week! Already have a resort studio booked for the Fall and then the Poly2 news hit. I'm going to try to resist a second add on purchase. Unless I give in and buy DLT. I guess as so many say - addonitis is REAL!

Congrats, we a bit like you sans grandchildren. We are still waiting on our fourth resale contract to not be taken in ROFR, but we are buying mostly for us. We may buy direct if our fourth contract gets taken.

Congratulation, wife and I bought at riviera 8 days ago for our first dvc home after having 2 boardwalk resales took by Disney. Have a third boardwalk attempt waiting rofr now with an international seller so hopefully will have our second home before long And already wanting a third but wife says I have to wait :(

I'm so happy for you! Our first contract was also Riviera, it's a really lovely resort. Enjoy!

And good thing you're already working on DH for Poly2, it's nice to have a monorail resort in addition to your EPCOT one. We got BLT recently for that purpose. Congrats again!
