Hey friends.. looking into getting an aft cabin on deck 9 or 10 on Fantasy. Has anyone dealt with noise from above? Pool…cabanas..?

Did a B2B in 10658 on the dream. Right under cabanas. We could hear chairs being moved early every morning. Wasn’t a deal breaker for us, but it also wasn’t a quiet cabin.

Sailed in 9172 on the fantasy in 2021. Still lots of vibration. Also wasn’t a deal breaker for us. We would sail in the aft again.

We have sailed on the Fantasy, in an aft room 9 times. We have had pretty much every cabin in the aft (decks 8, 9, 10) because we love the extended verandah rooms. I was there in March this year and I have another aft room booked this Sept. The vibrations are still there. My personal opinion is that the issue has gotten better but if the sea is rough and the stabilizers are used, the vibrations could be an issue for some people. You can hear chairs moving around from Cabanas early in the morning if you are on deck 10 but it is not loud. There is no noise from pools, they are too far away.

There "used" to be a soot problem a few years ago. I would expect this to still be around until the fleet is all LNG.

I never looked at the soot as a problem, just something to be aware of and manage since we like to be in the extended verandah rooms directly in the aft. At higher speeds with a wind you are more likely to smell the soot but I never felt it was too bad. I expect there to be some soot.

The OP asked for information, hence this is information. What they do with it is up to them, however something to expect.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the info given. We have an extended verandah booked for the first time in Oct. Very much looking forward to cabin 10160. How was the noise here?

We were in 10660 and the noise wasn't too bad. You could hear it some during the day. What we found the most challenging is that we cruised in June and there were times of the day when you had to have the curtains closed because the sun was so strong it really heated up the room. We also figured out after 2 days to call guest services and they lowered the AC for us. I loved the balcony though. It was a bit odd that if you went to the rail you could turn back and see people eating outside of Cabanas. That was just if you were at the rail. If you sat back people couldn't see you on the balcony but it's not as private as other balconies potentially.
