I have heard many mixed reviews so far about PBH. We are staying in club level and heard that is gets very busy and the food offerings are gone so quick. Is it true there are hundreds of rooms for this level? We have stayed many times at Grand Floridian and we don't want to be dissapointed here. Has anyone done both? Any opinions will be greatly appreciated!

I have done both and love PBH. It is a relaxed atmosphere. My kids like the food offerings better at PBH. The food offerings at GF were more upscale and presented in a pretty manner whereas, PBH is a platter of cheeses and meats and a hot offering. It depends what you are looking for. We love the FOTL at the parks and the rooms are beautiful. Both resorts have their perks. If someone is making your bed, feeding you wine and cheese, and has breakfast ready and waiting how bad could it be. :rotfl2: Stop worrying it will be wonderful!

We stay at both. When in WDW we stay at the GF RPC and when at USO we always stay at the PBH CL. I personally perfer the PBH overall . In our dozens of stays at the PBH I haved never ever seen "hundreds" of peoiple in the club room. I have also never seen them run out of food. The evening offerings are different from the GF. The GF in the past year has been offering theme nights of food one night Mexican, Asian, Italian. At the PBH it is Antipasti, as well as wine and beer...it is an Italian Riviera themed hotel. Neither of the hotel club level offerings are meant to be a meal, with the exception of breakfast. At the PBH there is always cans of soda, bottles of water and coffee and tea and cookies. After breakfast there is a smoothie selection. Evenings are desserts, cookies and liquors. We have stayed equally in both hotels and have never been disappointed in the PBH. The rooms are larger, the service better and the hotel is just beautiful. You will not be disappointed.

Goofie4goofy, we also stay at RPC GF. I'm relieved to hear that PBH is just as nice. The reservationist also told me that the rooms were all just renovated and they are beautiful. Thanks for your reply!

p.s. my sister lives on Long Island, Roslyn to be exact.

Hey not far from me! We love living on Long Island, no need for a summer vacation :thumbsup2

You will really  the PBH

Is it true there are hundreds of rooms for this level?

Heres what I have for a breakdown of the 750 rooms:
Standard
Garden view- 276
Bay View- 255
Premium
Deluxe King or Queen- 146
Club level- 28
Suites
Kid's Suite- 18
1 BR Portofino- 12
1 BR Villa Ste.- 6
1 BR Hospitality- 6
Govenatore- 2
Presidente- 1

We're staying in a Villa Ste. and will have club access so if all suites have club access that would be a total of 73 rooms.

I read another thread on the Dis boards saying that PBH gives club level access to people who are not in club level rooms. I am not sure this is true. Maybe when the hotel is overbooked and people requested these rooms and they are not available, they give them a standard room with club access? I believe that the premium rooms are also club.

I was also told by the reservationist that suites don't have access to club level. I am a little confused :confused3

You can have club access but you have to pay for it. I don't remember how much it is, but I do recall it not being worth the extra $$. I do not know if ALL rooms can add CL to their reservation, or if just the suites.

I was trying to reserve a Portofino Suite (none available for my dates ) but I was told that it does not include club access, it would be an additional charge. I was told that only club rooms have club room access without additional charge.

Ya'll made me nervous so I had to find my ressie confirmation. I booked king bay view and asked for an upgrade and was given a Club room with 2 queens along with the villa parlor. :thumbsup2

While I can't compare it to the GF, I can say that I did not enjoy my stay at PBH when we were there a few years ago. I wouldn't stay there again.

It was a very nice resort. laid back, nice rooms, great service. Our room was booked as a garden view but we were upgraded to bay view at check-in. The room had two very large (and high) beds and a very nice big bathroom. I really had no complaints at all except that the beach swimming pool closed at 10:00. We stay at the parks from open to close, so this was kind of a disappointment for my boys. We did not realize that the other pool was open until 11. Oh well...

I would stay here again. Plenty of families there. not as stuffy as one might expect a 4 star resort to be.
