Hiya

I am going to WDW in November, aged 17, and I have no clue what to dress as. I'd love to dress as a classic Disney character but haven't got lots of money to spend on a costume.

When you go to MNSSHP what affordable costumes do you wear? I'd love to be Wendy, Belle, Alice or a princess but it just seems so expensive. What characters are cheaper to dress as?

Belle's provincial dress actually seems quite simple, just a blue dress and apron thing. I've searched for a blue dress everywhere but can't find a vaguely affordable one.

TIA! :)

Be creative! Also be original. Last. Year I was a chimney sweep and i put the costume together with stuff I owned. This year I'm going as tweedle dee. I'm using red shorts a yellow shirt and so on.

Have you looked at YouTube? I recall seeing how to make a no sew Indian Princess dress.

Also, there are a couple threads you can use the search button that show pics of peoples costumes.

Dd14 and I went a couple years ago..she was a bee and I was part of a Twister game and my bag glowed in the dark via glow in the dark fabric paint and it replicated the Twister board and I inserted the dial in it.

Good luck and have a great time.

I go the the thrift store and find stuff to make costumes. It really only takes basic sewing skills (depending on the costume) and/or some good fabric glue.

I've done homemade a few years in a row. Thrift stores and craft stores are your best bet. If you can't sew, there's a no-sew tape you can use with an iron.

The two of us next to Mickey, I made both of the costumes. I worked harder on the Roxas costume than King Mickey because time was running out. The guy on the left, he bought his off a cosplay website.

Here's a better view of the two I made.

As long as you put your mind to it, you can make anything look good. The year before we spray painted an UGLY yellow pant suit from the thrift store for like $10 and turned into an awesome Dreamfinder costume. People were stopping to take pictures with her all night long.

Not Disney themed at all, but one year my best friend and I each printed out a giant picture of a quarter and taped it on our backs, calling ourselves quarterbacks. Not terribly exciting but we felt creative! :rotfl2:

I noticed you said you were going in November. Just wanted to make sure you knew the last day of MNSSHP is November 1.

My only suggestion for a costume is something cool enough for the weather.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll have a think and see what I can come up with.

And yes, we're going to the MNSSHP on the 1st November. :)
