FYI,
For years, there have been two gas stations that price gouged with prices more than a dollar above the going price, on Semaron(436).
Wawa just opened there and they are selling gas cheap. Local ordinances couldn't seem to get those stations to do the right thing, but I suspect this will.
No, I don't work for Wawa. I just don't like unsuspecting tourists getting ripped off. :thumbsup2

Yes, WaWa just opened - selling gas at $2.99 as their introductory price (in the past they have kept that price for a couple of weeks or longer).

The other two stations were still selling gas for $5.99/gal as of yesterday.

Regulations will only allow Wawa to sell at $2.99 for three days. I suspect that's because they are actually selling below cost.

There are at least 3 other stations in the area that have matched Wawa's price.

:faint: 5.99/gallon??? I don't care what WM's price is. $5.99 is just :scared:

I always fillup at WDW, it's still on full by the time I get to the airport.

I'm not the OP, but I believe so. Some people use Orlando International Airport instead of MCO.

Yes, even the local news usually refers to the airport as OIA.

But don't let anyone put OIA as your destination on your luggage tags -your bags would end up in Ourilandia Brazil!
The airport will always be MCO to me (McCoy AFB before it became a commercial airport).

Unless legislated out of existance, those super high gas prices will remain to catch those folks who are running so late as not to be able to get to cheaper gas stations even if they knew where all the cheaper gas stations were located.

OIA is an abbreviation of the airport's official name.
MCO is the airport's code.

ORL is the code of a smaller airport (now Orlando Executive Airport) closer to downtown Orlando. I'm not sure whether this was Orlando's only commercial airport prior to the Magic Kingdom's opening.

In an earlier lifetime I got confused by Denver International Airport's abbreviation DIA which represents its name only. Its code DEN was taken away from its predecessor Stapleton Airport that ceased being an airport when DIA opened.

While staying in the LBV area last month, I saw another one of those sneaky no sign/hidden sign gas stations, this one also on Apopka-Vineland Road. My vague recollection is that it was a Chevron or possibly a Mobil. That station struck me as particularly odd because just a little bit up the street, at the intersection with Palm Parkway, there is a very reasonable Shell station and in fact this Shell is sometimes the least expensive station in the whole region.

That's what I also do, usually catch one of the Hess's on property or the Hess just before jumping on the Greenway at International Drive.
