I've been looking at all these rentals for our family of 6 (maybe a 7th person, a grandma, will be joining us) in November, but there are soooo many and every place seems to look great and have great reviews, so I'm not sure what to choose. I want someplace nice, but still a reasonable cost and not too far from Disney. We'd be doing one park per day tix. With 4 kids from 2 to 11, we will definately need to take an afternoon break. We will have our own car.

Is staying in Kissimmee a better deal?

Is it better to have a personal pool or a shared pool? I'm nervous about my little ones getting into that area (even though it seems like most pools are protected with door locks, gates, etc).

Are most of the rentals pretty much the same within the same price range? What does one get for paying an extra $50-100 per night usually?

Thanks

Have you looked into the Parc Soleil Hilton Grand Vacation Suites? We just booked a week into a King 1-bedroom suite for our March 2012 trip. We got it free with our MasterCard points, but the listed price for this unit is $153 per night. It may be cheaper for 2011 dates.

It looks absolutely beautiful. Some of the rooms have a WDW fireworks view. Balconies and hardwood floors in the room. The pool area is fantastic with a slide. I've read in reviews that the pool depth is 3 or 4 ft. Washer/dryer in the condo too (love packing light!). The condo hotel is about a 10-min drive to WDW, 10-min drive to Seaworld and 15-min drive to Universal. Free parking and free WIFI.

It's also close 3 supermarkets (Publix, Whole Foods, and Winn-Dixie) that you can take your pick, and 5-min drive to the premium outlet.

We were going to stay on-site, but we checked on Google maps that the distance from the Parc Soleil to Epcot is the same as from AKL to Epcot.

Good luck in your search!!! :goodvibes

I hugely recommend vrbo.com We have stayed in Kissimmee for our last 3 trips and loved it! The privacy of your own home, to lounge around as you wish is awesome. There are thousands of homes to choose from on that site.

Check out Barefoot'n Resort. They have 2 and 3 bedroom condos and they are 5 mins from WDW. My co-worker stayed there during a softball turny at WWOf S and they loved it.

I would definately check out Cypress Pointe Grande Villas, our owner that we rented from Tony Aramouni was awesome! aramouni@bellsouth.net They have 3 bedroom units, where the 3rd bedroom is a lockoff and more like an effiency... great for in laws or grandparents!

The small turtle pool in the Villas was only 1 1/2 feet deep and large enough for the kids to play in and stay entertained (4 and 2) and lounge chairs for the adults, along with umbrella tables, right in the locked area for the kids pool.

I just posted my full review in the Hotels & Accomidations Review section. I could tell you how much I paid for 7 nights... but I think he may have given us a really special deal, as we booked within 90 days of our travel... I will say it was less than $80 a night!

The location was perfect within 2 miles of Downtown Disney, right off Apopka Vineland.

PM me if you have any questions.

Hi. As a previous person said VRBO.com is a great sight. Here are a couple more you might like. They are sister properties Hills being a bit newer than Palms. Both have anything from 2 bedroom condos to 6-8 bedroom homes. Ive staid at Hills in 2009 it was wonderful and will be staying at Palms this friday.

We are staying at a 3 bed 3 bath tonwhome with full washer dryer, kitchen, pool for $685 for the week of June 10-17. I couldnt beat that price anywhere. We are renting from www.orlandosecret.com. The owners are very nice and on top of things have had no complaints.

Both Hills and Palms have movie theater, playgrounds, sundry shop, olympic size pools, and are gated communites. If you rent a 3bed 3 bath twnhome they have a private splash pool, and the homes are privately owned pool homes.

Here are the sights you might like to look at. http://www.windsor-palms-florida.net/

Best of luck :)

The key decision may be whether Grandma is coming. The difference between having 6 and 7 people is bigger than it sounds, because that third adult not only needs their own bedroom, but bathroom as well.

With small kids, a Grandma would be priceless on your trip because she could help out a lot with the kids, and would also create some very special memories for the kids. But you really need to know if she's coming!

If she does not, you might look at a 2-bedroom at Wyndham's Bonnet Creek Resort. WBC might also work with Grandma, because they also have 3 bedrroms.

We were just there a couple of weeks ago, and it's an amazing place for small kids. Really a lot of activities, lots of zero-entry pools, etc.

WBC is actually located "within the gates" of WDW and just a short drive to any theme park or DTD (which is right down the street). I can be parked at any theme park in WDW in 15 minutes from WBC. It's actually closer and more convenient to drive from than any of the Disney "value" resorts, and almost all of the "moderates." And they also have their own free bus service to the parks and DTD if you want to bus.

Kissimmee, on the other hand, is about 20 minutes or so from WDW and then you still have the drive within WDW.

On this forum, you'll see several threads about renting Wyndham units from owners, and quite a bit of info about rates etc.

We stayed at Windsor hills and we were maybe 10 minutes from parking lot to our door and that was if the lights were red!!!

Yes. Way better.

Is it better to have a personal pool or a shared pool? I'm nervous about my little ones getting into that area (even though it seems like most pools are protected with door locks, gates, etc).

I've never had a private pool place. But at Windsor Hills we really enjoyed the shared pool, with no problems except sunburn (me).

Are most of the rentals pretty much the same within the same price range? What does one get for paying an extra $50-100 per night usually?

An extra $50-100 per night? We rented a 3BR/2BA/full kitchen/laundry/balcony - pool view that was immaculate and well decorated at Windsor Hills for $99/night. We did not need anything more.
