"If it's too loud you're too old", we've all heard the saying but seriously - what do you think the decibel level for the music blasting in your ears is on this ride? I like Aerosmith, but the last time we rode I thought the music on the coaster was SO LOUD that it could very likely cause hearing damage. My ears were ringing for about an hour after the ride.

Maybe my height made my ears line up perfectly with the in-cart speakers or something. I was loathe to let my kid go on too many imes because I didn't want her hearing to get damaged. She thought I was being a big ole wet blanket.

Next time I'm bringing earplugs :)

We rode it about 20 times on our trip a few weeks ago and never noticed it being louder than usual....and we've never found it to be too loud.

I don't know what the decibel level is, but it does wonders to distract me from the fact that I'm going upside down. :)

RnR is simply one of Disney's best rides. The combination of music and semi darkness is so well done! One night at closing we were on the ride and started a chant of one more time. The cast member called ahead and we went back to back. It was a blast!

I'm often an audio recording engineer in my day job, and I don't find R'n'RC's playback levels to be significantly loud.
(I'm a bit over 6' tall, since you mentioned height and in-car speaker position.)

Its Aerosmith! :rockband: What else would it be but loud? But seriously, if you are concerned for your hearing or your DDs, get some ear plugs and wear them on the ride. I do this for Dinosaur and LMA, which I find way too loud for my ears.

I've not noticed it to be overly loud. It's rock music, I don't think it's going to be quiet.

I'm also 5 feet tall so my ears are right at the speakers

I think it needs to be a bit loud to be heard over all of the screaming. At least, so I can hear it over my screaming.:scared1:

My husband and kids always wear earplugs on this ride. I never do, but probably should.

I always wear ear plugs. I guess I'm too old. But you have to protect your ears.

I am going on this ride in April for the first time in almost ten years!!! I am so excited I do not care if I am deaf for the rest of the day.

I am old enough to have yet to even notice the music on RcRC. I'm not kidding I have no recollection of the music at all, much less the volume. If you're wondering, my hearing is fine. The only things I don't hear are things that I don't want to hear. (That might explain why I'm divorced) :)

i have never found it to be too loud.(and due to my visual impairment my ears are more sensitive so do find some things to be too loud but not that.)

no one i know including my 71yr old dad has ever found it too loud.

now that I think about it.. it is loud, but too loud? NO WAY! :)

I don't remember noticing the volume one way or the other. but funny enough, I thought the screaming was part of the soundtrack or effects until this last trip. While I was near the launch area, for some reason they sent one limo thru with just one cast member on it - I was very surprised to hear no screaming at all. When it's a full ride, that's some seriously loud screaming!!

It's loud, but it's amazing to me. Every time an Aerosmith song comes on in the car, DD20 and I talk about how much we'd rather be on RnRC than going wherever we're headed. ;)

you are NOT being a wet blanket! the first time I rode it I thought my head was going to explode! I WILL ride it again BUT with EARPLUGS firmly in place!
