Are Aero beds a good value for temporary bedding options? Does anyone own one and want to share any opinions/info on them?

My folks have owned a queen Aerobed for many years now with pretty good luck. Had one problem with the air pump but got a replacement part and it is fine.

I didn't want to spend the $$ on an Aerobed so I bought a twin camping mattress (Coleman brand) at Walmart for about $15 and an air pump for another $15. It works just fine for several years now (and used many different times.) Plus I am able to use the pump to blow up ( and deflate) pool toys, etc. And I bought a queen camping mattress (store brand) from Walmart about 1 year ago and it is working just fine (about $25). I have even slept on it for a week straight and was more comfortable then I was for three nights on my parents "deluxe" sofa bed. All together I haven't spent what my folks spent on their Aerobed. I guess the choice is yours. Good luck!....P

This opinion is coming from someone who has to sleep on one every time I go to visit inlaws buy the one that blows up like a real bed. ( you know the one that has a bottom and a top) they have both and I hate sleeping on the one that just sits on the floor. It hurts my back. i prefer the one that is higher off the ground.

we had to sleep on an air mattress for somme time and the raised aero bed was awesome i always got a good night sleep and i got it opn sale a lnt and used the 20% coupon so the price wasnt that bad

I bought a kids one for my son at kohls com. He loves it. Kohls is a little over priced but with enough coupons and free shipping you could get a good deal.

We have had are bed up since before Christams and we haven't added air to it.

yes, love our Aero bed, would never get a different brand. We have had ours for 7 years now and no problems.. and has had ALOT of kids jumping on it over the years...:)

We've had a full-sized one now for about 6 yrs-LOVE it! It's been dragged on camping trips, overnights @ relatives, and taken out for guests here... still inflates in under a minute and deflates even faster :thumbsup2 It's quite comfortable in comparison to other blow-up beds I've tried

We have an Aerobed and as far as blow-up mattresses are concerned, we think it's the best! I think the one that has the bottom AND top piece would be awesome but we just have the regular and it's fine! I think it's worth the money, we have had ours 5 years and it gets used almost once a month and it still works perfect!!

When I visit my best friend he puts an aerobed on top of the sleep sofa matress so it's up off the floor. I've never slept so well in my life!

We bring our Aero bed with us on ALL of our vacations. My kids are 10 and 12 and refuse to sleep in the same bed anymore. It's a low cost solution if there are not enough beds. Also, sometimes the beds at vacation places are not comfortable and i it hurts my back. Having the Aero bed with us is always another option. It's also perfect for when people come over or the tons of kids who want to spent the night! We LOVE our Aero bed and will be purchasing a twin one also for when we go to Disney! :thumbsup2

We go camping alot and we have those cheaper mattress' from walmart and target. we heard so much about areo bed and there was a good deal on one so we bought it. The kids on the cheap one were ok. we deflated every night. I returned it as soon as we got back.

Is there a weight limit on these? I have some guests coming to visit and my friend offerered to loan me her Aero bed. I see everyone else saying they put their kids on these, but will it do okay for 2 large adults?

DH and I bought a full size raised Aerobed for us to use at Christmas so my mom could use our bed :santa: I highly recommend it.

We did some research and found that Aerobed seemed to be the way to go. We read consumer reports that said some of the more inexpensive brands were prone to leaking.

We're a fluffy couple and the bed worked out perfectly. We loved it! Even the 2 cats joined us (and one of the cats is very fluffy at 35 pounds). I'm clueless about how to add pictures, but I tried to add one to my signature to show you what it looked like.

We have had a queen size aero bed for about 4 years and we love it. I bring it just about everywhere! It inflates and deflates in minutes and I think it is very comfortable compared to other brands. We just used it over Christmas when we were at my SIL's house. DH and DD slept in the full bed and I had the whole queen size aero bed to myself! DH and I had to fight over it the next night as dd's little legs are all over the place at night!

My parents have a queen size aero bed which I sleep on when I visit. Very comfortable.
I would imagine the one that is off the floor would be easier to get out of.

We have a queen size Aero bed, very comfortable. We purchased ours at BJ's wholesale club for $99.00.

I have a question, has anybody put one on top of the other instead of buying a raised bed? I have a queen and would love to buy a raised queen but they are pretty high in price. I thought maybe I would just buy another queen and maybe put a foam egg crate between them to stop it from sliding. Has anybody done this with success?

The weight limit varies depending on style. You can check on their website- thinkaero.com Once you click on the style there is a "spec" button that will give you the weight limits.
