We are DVC members and I was wondering if the blow up beds they give you in the room if they are still free? My 2 daughters do not sleep well together on the pull out couch so getting one of these makes life easier. If they were not free then I would probably bring mine from home. They were free when we were there in Jan 08 but I know things change.
Thanks for your help.

The only thing I have seen in the closet that's "free" is a pack-n-play for a baby. I'm pretty sure that you would need to provide your own Aerobed.

I just got off the phone with DVC guest services to change one of our reservations They said they do not have Aero beds... When I mentioned that I had read about them on the DISboards, she did a "hummmmmph"!

The resorts seem to have a few Aerobeds they give out on request, first come, first served. This isn't an official DVC thing that you reserve through MS. The official policy is still 'no additional bedding provided'.

If you need an Aerobed, I'd bring one yourself. There's no guarantee that the resort will have one available.

DVC has never advertised aerobeds free for member use. There have been a few available at the resorts, probably because another guest left it behind. Don't count on any extra beds unless you bring them yourself.

I recommend getting an Owner's locker. Then you can keep your blowup bed and pump in there. We got an inexpensive single last year I think it cost about $25 included the pump. That's what we do!! Solves all the issues with not wanting to sleep in the same bed. But, somehow they manage to argue about who gets the air bed and who gets the pull out....:rotfl:

It's like I'm seeing my future.... Thanks for the insight!

OP- We also just got an Owner's Locker and are bringing our air bed and linens. There's great deals on the DIS if you decide to get one!

When we were there this past August we brought our own air mattress. We picked up a cheap one with a pump included from Target for under $20.00. We did not want to get there and there not be any.

We have packed our Aero bed in a suitcase, that was before the airlines charged for baggage. I think it was be more cost effective to ship one there and 'donate' it or throw it out rather than spending money on an owners locker.
