My mom will need a electric cart for our trip to WDW due to a stroke.

Does Disney rent them? If not who does and how much does it cost and how do we reserve?

Sorry for so many questions but we need the info asap as we will be at WDW 10/31/02-11/03/02.

Thanks!!!

WDW does rent them. They are $30 per day with a $10 per day deposit. One thing you may want to concider is renting one from an offsite vendor such as walker mobility, or another company. This way you will be sure to have the scooter. They will deliver the scooter directly to your hotel room and pick it up on your last day at the resort.

WDW scooters are not in the best shape. PM me if I can help any more.

Hi and welcome to disABILITIES. Ask as many questions as you need to. That's what the board is for.
You can rent ecvs (also called scooters) at the parks, but you can't reserve them ahead of time and they are limited in quantity. Here's a
link to the DIS page about touring with mobility disabilities, which has information about renting wheelchairs and ecvs at the parks.

One of the problems with renting one at the parks is that you won't have it available for use at the resorts (which might include a lot of walking) or for coming from the bus/parking lot into the park (which can also be a long way).
A better alternative is to rent one from one of the outside medical equipment companies:
Care Medical:

Walker Mobility:
1-888-726-6837
www.walkermobility.com

RANDY'S Mobility is in Kissimmee 407-892-4777

Colonial Medical
http://www.colonialmed.com/about_cms.html

It is less expensive to rent by the week from one of these companies than to rent by the day from Disney. You also won't have to worry about availability each day. If you are staying on site, almost all the buses are equipped with lifts/ramps and tiedowns to transport scooters. If you are staying off-site, many ecvs can be broken down into pieces for transport in a van or large car trunk.

Also, the w/c/ scooters rented at the parks can not be taken out to the parking/bus area. This can be a long walk for some folks.
