I'm about to book a trip to WDW from April 17-26. It will be me, DH, DD 7 and DD almost 4 months. Although we've been to WDW twice before this is the first time with an infant and the first time in April. Previous trips were in November and September. I'm stressing over what to expect. I'm one of those who likes to plan every detail but of course I know this time traveling with an infant I can't do commando style. Also, the baby keeps me pretty busy so I don't have much time for research.

I'd appreciate any tips and advise you can give me. Will any of the new attractions like Soaring and the Stunt show be open by this time? What about the new parades and shows, will they be starting yet? Any ideas on the crowds?

We'll probably stay at All-star Movies but I was thinking of trying POP or maybe a moderate? Any recommendations?

I'm sure at the end everything will work itself out and we'll have a wonderful time but right now i'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

Any ideas on how to make this trip planning a little easier?

If you have the funds and haven't booked already, you might consider a Fort Wilderness Cabin. Let me tell you why: the kitchen and the bedroom. The kitchen for fixing bottles, washing bottles, etc. And the bedroom for baby's naps in peace away from the rest of the family. Or yours. :)
Just an idea.

Also, be prepared to take it pretty easy. The baby will slow you down a lot, and that's OK! Just be aware of it and don't stress over what you've "missed". Everyone misses something no matter how commando they go.

You might also consider using a travel agent (if you aren't already) to help you take some of the burden off of your planning.

Relax. Have fun! :flower:

It sounds like you already know it's going to be "different". You won't get as much done. However, you can still have an incredible trip, and thats what it's really about. I really like the cabin idea. Possibly look into renting DVC points for a 1 bedroom. I know financially thats a huge jump from a value, but it really may make the trip just perfect. With an infant those extra things come in handy. Don't forget lots and lots of sunscreen for the little one either!!!

Looks like we'll have a few days overlapping. There's a lot of Diser's going at that time frame!

I'd recommend POP or Port Orleans. We have been with an infant twice and didn't find a kitchen necessary. Just make sure the baby is willing to take formula that is made with room temperature bottled water.

Thanks for the advice. I did want a cabin but I couldn't find one available online. I don't know how to go about renting points so can someone please explain this to me. Also how many people can fit into the cabins because my sister and her 3 kids are planning to go too and maybe between the two families we can afford the cabin. But again how and where to I go to rent points?

The cabins can acommodate up to 6 people plus an infant. However, that might get more than a little crowded. Two people would have to sleep on a Murphy bed in the livingroom area. Two children can sleep in the bunkbeds in the bedroom and two more people on the double bed in the bedroom. And there's just one bathroom.

To learn how to rent DVC points, checkout the DIS- DVC Rent/Trade Board . Read the 3 sticky threads at the top of the forum. If you still have questions, you can post them as well. With 7 people, you would need at least a 2-bedroom villa (sleeps 8). Some resorts cost more points than others and Friday & Saturday nights cost double the number of points that weeknights cost. Points generally rent for about $10/point. For your dates, a 2-bedroom at OKW would run 356 points. At the Beach Club, it would be 430 points.
