I've read and reread trip reports and blogs saying how "pooh size friendly" Disney world is but I'm still not convinced I'll fit on the rides! Most reports include height and weight but don't give body measurements so it's still hard to see how it relates to you. I'm just going to put it all out here and hopefully someone who's similarly sized can ease (or confirm) my fears lol
Chest: 51"
Waist: 60"
Hips/lower belly area: 65"
I'm 5'7 and 330 lbs and despite my size and weight in fairly active, have no mobility issues, frequently sit and play in the floor with my child so climbing in and out of anything shouldn't be s problem. My body is just shaped weird! Ever since my c-section its like my weight shifted way down on my torso and im mostly worried about this with lap bars. Anyone with similar stats, measurements, etc who could give specific advise on what I would and would not be able to ride, I would be eternally grateful!!!

i'm not sure 7dmt would be a no go, it's a lap bar but its u shaped and sits over your legs and not against your waist. As long as your legs fit in you should be ok. I'm 6'4" and viking built and I fit but it's a tight fit around my legs and my knees almost can't fit under the bar to pull it back but I fit..

99% of WDW you should be ok. As a PP said, universal is a different story, there is very few things I can ride. It's so common that every ride has a sample seat for you to try before you get in line to see if you fit.

I'm about 5'10" and was about 320, size 26/28 when we went last year. I didn't have any problems at all with any rides. We didn't do 7dmt but i plan to ride next month. i don't recall any lap bars seeming borderline or anything either. If you board a ride with a seatbelt (like soarin), just pull the belt all the way out before buckling in. Although I should add, I do recall that specific ride having much more slack than I needed, even at my size.

Picture an upside down "U" shape--that's the restraint on Mine Train. Your legs have to fit inside the upside-down U...and then you have to pull it towards your belly until it clicks enough to be locked in. First time I rode it, I was about 250 and could barely fit--was so uncomfortable I did not enjoy the ride at all. Now I am under 200 lbs at 5'5" and can still just barely fit my legs in there...it is still quite tight, though I can enjoy the ride now. The other problem with the seats is the seat is molded to divide it into 2 seats--you really can't "spill over" into the other seat because of the way the seat is molded and the restraint system. When I was at 250 lbs, it was actually painful on my hips/behind because that molded seat dug right into me. Based on my own experience and with others in my party who are closer to 275 lbs and could not ride...I don't think you will be able to fit. Sorry, but Disney really blew it with the Mine Train. Everything else you should be able to ride. If you Google 7 Dwarfs Mine Train seatbelt image, a bunch of pictures will come up and you can scroll through them...there is an example showing a person's legs with the restraint in place.

I am pooh sized. I have vivid memories of being kicked off rides at my local amusement park for being too big. One of the most humiliating moments of my life...

Going to Disney for the first time in a decade, I was worried about rides. No issues. The ride vehicles (and cast members) are extremely accepting of plus size riders. I didn't have cast members coming over to me on RnR or SM to jam the bar down to make it fit or give me that look that this wasn't going to work. They let it sit where it naturally rested and that was good enough for them. The only issue I had was on 7DMT. There was no issue with the cast members or the restraints, just that the ride vehicle itself was uncomfortable.

After 5 days at Disney, we then went for 1 day at Universal. I was slapped back to reality. I was turned away from several rides and barely fit on a few more before finally giving up and letting others ride while I waited. All the rides I barely fit were cramped and uncomfortable. It made me appreciate Disney all the more...

I would book a fastpass for 7DMT just in case, so you dont wait in line forever and are unable to ride. I am quite small and I still feel squished in those seats! I cant think of any other ride where you would have trouble though. Disney is pretty good with that stuff!

You guys are awesome!!! Im feeling more confident with every comment :)))

VERY VERY close to the same size as you, and have had NO ISSUES on my trips to WDW. 7DMT was also something I was able to ride. It was snug, but I fit nicely without any hesitation from cast members. Try not to let this worry you so much even though it's hard not to! ENJOY!

Thank you spartankid!!! Did you ride big thunder mountain? I've read that a lot of people find that one a close fit...I think I'm the most worried about that one...

I'm a woman of size and have risen on every ride at Disney. The only ride that was a struggle, and I won't bother again, Sum Of all Thrills. It barely closed over my chest and my hips really didn't fit in the seat well. I'm a bit smaller than your stats but no other ride was even close to not fitting

I am almost your size and the only issue I have fitting on any rides at Disney are 7DMT and Sum of All Thrills.

Don't even try to get on Sum of All Thrills. It's got an overhead restraint that connects at the crotch between your legs and it wouldn't connect for me.

I fit on 7DMT, but it was by far the most uncomfortable restraint of any Disney ride. If you carry a lot of your weight in your thighs, then 7DMT may be an issue since you have be able to fit the U-shaped bar around your legs.

I am pleased to say I have no issues with anything else! BTMRR is actually very easy to fit on because it's a single lap bar across the two seat wide bench. Just don't ride with a small child because the bar won't be low enough to restrain them.

Seriously, you don't need to worry! You will fit and have fun!

I ride BTMRR with DGD all the time, she only rides coasters if she can hold my hand. The difference in size and the lap bar is no issue. She stays in the seat and is perfectly safe
