I am starting my plans for my March 2006 Western Cruise. We have cruised twice on the Eastern and loved it but I was wondering what I need to know/pack/plan for my Western trip. Any info on excursions, or advise is welcome!
Only 11 months and 3 days to go!!!!! :cool1:  :Pinkbounc

We did a jetski tour in Key West....it was so much fun. I think the company we used was called Island Sports. Our cruise was last Oct, because of the hurricane in Grand Cayman we went to Costa Maya instead. But I heard that swimming w/ the stingrays is a must do in Grand Cayman. I was planning on doing the tour w/ Captain Marvins if we would have gone. In Cozumel, we went to Paradise Beach which was really great. My DH took a beginner scuba course w/ Eagle Ray Divers and DMIL Swim W/Dolphins in Chanubah(sp?) park.

We loved the submarine excursion in Grand Cayman and the dolphin encouter in Mexico. In Cozumel, there are horse drawn carriages at the pier that will give you a tour. That was a lot of fun also. Have a wonderful trip. :wave2:

I keep getting an error message when i try to check out upcoming cruise prices and rooms on DCL official site. Anyone else having this trouble??

I was able to check prices and categories on the disney website a few minutes ago - did not try to reserve though.

Maybe try calling?

And don't forgot that most travel agents can get you a much better price than what is listed on the disney website

Cozumel the Dolphin encounter was fun. Make sure you enjoy the park after your encounter though. They have a replica Mayan village and some other fun stuff. Sallys Mini Golf in Cozumel was a blast too. We surprised the kids. They had no idea where we were going until they got there.

We did the Island tour in Grand Cayman. It was okay.

Key West you can explore on your own or do the little tour on the tram. THe view of the sunset from the ship is just as good as the view from Mallory square.

We've been on both 7-day cruises.

In Key West, because we'd never been there before, we did the Old Town Trolley Tour. It gives you an idea of what Key West is about. You have on and off privileges whereas with the Conch Train you don't. After the Trolley Tour we walked along Duvall Street, got a piece of Key Lime Pie, bought some souvenirs, then went back to the ship. It was extremely hot when we were there!

In Grand Cayman -- go to Stingray City. You can book with Captain Marvin's or Captain Bryan. Of course, you can always book through Disney if you are hesitant about booking with an independent company. I was a little squeamish about swimming with the stingrays but it is truly a once in a lifetime experience and am sooo glad I did it!

In Cozumel: The first time we were in Cozumel we did the Jungle Jeep Tour. We had a blast on this and our three boys rated it "Better than Indiana Jones"!!! The second time we were in Cozumel we booked the 3 Reef Snorkel with Eagle Ray Divers. This was, without a doubt, the best snorkeling excursion we've been on!! We've never seen so many fish and the place we stopped for lunch was great. I recommend either of these two excursions.

HTH :)
