Advise from iPhone users

I am hoping to get an iPhone in the next week or two and was wondering what apps people find useful to plan their Orlando holidays.
Any advise would be much appreciated.
From the bits I have heard it sounds great for planning a WDW/Universal holiday.

I have the WDW dining App
really good has all the menu
there is one too that has the parks keep meaning to check it out

there is a new I phone comimg out very shortly
not to sure of the details but check it out before you buy
I know it has video which the 3G does not

Hi

The new iPhone 3GS comes out on the 19th July 2009. It has video recording, voice control, is twice as fast as the current 3G and has twice the RAM as the current one. You may want to wait for that one.

In terms of Apps there are quite a few for WDW. One company has maps for all the parks at WDW and there is also a Dining application that many find useful. There is also some Notcast's on WDW that have secrets about the parks and useful hints and tips on how to make the best of your time there.

I don't own any yet as I haven't been to WDW and probably wont make it there until 2013.

Yep, either iTunes on your PC or MAC or from the APP Store on your new iPhone.

I was hoping to upgrade to the new 3GS but I'm certainly not going to pay off my existing contract and take out a new one and pay £200 for the new one!

The dining app was great when we were there. we ate on site quite often and just looked on the dining app to see what was near us or what restaurant we fancied and looked at what they had there.

It includes all the resorts too it was a great little tool to have with us

I have:

- 'WDW Dining Disney' - a really handy app for looking at menus. Very useful in planning my trip and will probably be useful in the parks (when deciding where to eat lunch etc.)

- All four park maps (called 'Magic Kingdom Mini Guide' etc.) - interactive maps, can be used to locate where you are in the park. In reality, probably of little use as the paper maps are more handy and I don't usually get lost!

- 'Disney World Wait Times' - I think that this is a fairly new app. Shows the wait times at the different attractions and the Fastpass return times. HOWEVER, it relies on users to submit the wait times so time will tell whether lots of people start using it and it becomes fairly up-to-date and accurate or not. This is one to keep and eye on. However, you would have to have data roaming turned on to use this in the parks (so keep an eye on how much data you're downloading).

I got the new 3.0 software last night and the lanscape keyboard certainly makes a big difference

I use a free app called Files Lite, it allows you to view office formats and also PDF's. If you have a pdf converter on your pc e.g. cutepdf (also free) then you can print anything to that format and keep it on your iPhone. I use it for everything, hotels, flights, adr's you name it
