My last visit, Disney was still using the machines for fast passes at the parks. I have all my fast passes booked as I am closing in on 30 days to my trip. However, I know we will need to adjust on the fly as we are traveling with extending family in a group of 12. Most of our fast passes are morning and we will be visiting a second park on most days in the afternoon. We will visit all four parks at least once if that matters. We were able to book fast passes for all the big rides we wanted except for Test Track.

So who has advice on using the MyDisney app for day of changes? Adding afternoon fast passes? Making changes to existing? Any advise is appreciated. TIA.

As for day of changes, don't delete any fastpasses and then try to add. If you delete, then can't find another fastpass you want, there's a good chance you won't be able to get the same one you just let go. With afternoon, after using your first 3 FP+ selections, you then can add one more FP+ in the park by visiting a kiosk, there are several scattered throughout. You can only add one at a time though, and only through the kiosks. After that additional FP+ has been used, you may then go back to a kiosk and reserve another. FP+ strategy can be tricky...if you make all of yours in the morning, that leaves more time to make new selections in the afternoon. However, if you don't book any for the afternoon or evening, the chances of riding attractions at those times without a long wait will be difficult. Also, you can only book FP+ at one park at a time, so you can't book two MK passes and then one for HS later or something. So that may affect which parks you visit on what days.

I don't have much specific advice, as far as attractions go, but these are a few key things to keep in mind when using FP+. Have fun either way, don't let the idea of FP+ put a damper on your trip.

Yes, review that thread. It's far more detailed than anyone else can be, and after reading the beginning you should have a very good understanding of FP+ :) thanks Dan!

With a group that size, I'd make sure more than one of you has MDE and therefore, the ability to make changes as you go (opt else willing to go to a FP kiosk to make changes). You don't want to have to be tour guide/travel agent all day.

I didn't park hop with my group of 12, so no advice on that specifically. Others who do hop have often reported that they like to do rope drop at their morning park to catch short waits and save FP for their afternoon park. Are you morning people? If so, you might consider posting your morning/afternoon parks here and see if anyone suggests changing your FPs to later in the day.

Use the MDE app to check wait times at rides near you or rides you are interested in before bothering to get in a FP kiosk line. You may find things you want to do with a reasonable wait & no need to go to a kiosk.

Kiosk lines often look daunting but move faster than you think. You seem to get different availability on the kiosk vs on the app. When getting a 4th or 5th FP, you may want to take whatever the kiosk gives you and then modify it on your app to a more preferable attraction or time. (You have to get extras at the kiosk, but can then modify on the app)

I had to make fast passes for my extended family of 13. Going in 35 days! Grouped many together for a ride and then some wanted to do a different ride. I had to change the "time" of the initial ride booked for those who wanted a different ride. Then "change the experience" for those wanting a different ride. While it is nice that we were all riding rides in the same time frame, it is tricky to make individual changes! Probably no times will be available for big rides on same especially SDMT! Couldn't even get times for that ride 35 days out! Crazy! Good thing I booked most of my family rides at my 60 days! Good look with your big group!

I did read the priorities and strategies thread, thanks for that. That was very helpful. I was looking for any other thoughts on my specific situation i.e. Monky and Mikie's responses. Thanks u2.
