My 22-yr old son and I are from out of state and will be arriving to DL this week and I'm seeking advice/strategies to make the most of our time. We booked our 3 days BEFORE OBB, so that is challenging our plans to get the most value out of our time in the parks. We have Park Hoppers and will be using Genie+.

Here are our reservations:
T 9/13: DL (OBB)
W 9/14: DCA
TH 9/15: DL (OBB)

What would you recommend as far as Genie+ strategies w/ our Park Hoppers and taking into account that OBB is taking place 2/3 days we are there?

Here's my plan for 9/16:
Rope Drop: Star Tours/Space Mountain
ILL for Rise (not sure what the return times will be, but probably 10-11AM?) *My son's first time here
Indiana Jones
Smuggler's Run
In no particular order: Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder, Splash Mtn
Probably grab lunch at that point and head over to DCA @ 1PM

Since we will only have 5 hours max, w/ OBB happening, we'd like to get in Guardians, Incredicoaster, Soaring, Toy Story, Single Rider RSR, etc (with our Genie+). Is this feasible with crowds/Genie+ return times? If we are in line for an attraction at 5:55PM, will we be allowed to complete it before park hopping back over to DL?

For Wed, we start @ DCA and will park hop over to DL to do the Genie+ LL attractions, and then finish at DCA and WOC.

TH, we will play it by ear and make up anything we missed/want to do over @ both parks...again with DCA closing early due to OBB.

Had we known that OBB would be taking place, we would have booked a different week. I did a 3-day solo trip last July, before Genie+ and figured that I would get to do as much as I want since I'm a fast walker and know most of the tricks to get the most out of my day. It was so crowded (and they took away Single Rider from Indy), that I didn't get as much done as I thought I would then. Since we only attend the parks every 3 years or so, I definitely want to get as much in as possible. We aren't as interested in Fantasyland dark rides, although will fill in w/ these if lines are reasonable and after we've done the bigger attractions. Also, Matterhorn is closed until Oct so we will miss that and it won't absorb crowds.

Thanks in advance! :)

Genie+ is a bit of a wildcard for OBB nights. I’m not sure how that’s going. But generally after 3:00 PM on party nights it’s just too crowded to do much. We usually do the Animation Building and Mickey’s Philarmagic when we have OBB tickets and avoid it when we don’t. I wouldn’t plan on being in DCA after 3 PM on those days. Others may have different advice with Genie+.
