Hi all - seeking advice from the brain trust here: I recently closed on a resale purchase with a Dec use year and we have quite a few points expiring next month 11/30 (banked from 2020).

What would you do to get value from these? We're not going to be able to make it to FL before 11/30 ourselves. Should I just book any reservations I can find and try to resell them via FB groups? Consider using a rental broker like the one affiliated with the board sponsor? Any downsides to this (will we get charged for no-showing if we can't sell it)?

What would you do? Thanks for any suggestions!

Stalk until you get a studio for a weekend and sell it on Facebook. I would do this, as an owner, maybe not as a renter.

Only options are to book any nights you can and try to rent those nights or as mentioned, deposit into II..though it may be too late for even that. You’d have to call

If you book something and it doesn’t rent, the points simply get forfeited..since you can’t use them anyway no real harm to trying.

ETA. And just a reminder that if you do snag nights, we do not allow you to list them here except in the Rent/transfer thread once you have submitted for approval.

Also please report any messages you receive that didn’t come from you initiating contact as that is how people can be scammed.

I would join some of the FB groups that rent out DVC points. Book whatever is available and post it. If the price is right, even for a random Tuesday in November, someone will rent it from you. I live local, and whenever I see someone post a cheap reservation, I’m always checking my schedule to see how I can make it work 🫣

October 17th was the deadline for those with a December UY to deposit into II so your only option is look for confirmed nights and attempt to rent them - either through FB or a rental agency.

Good luck… hope you are able to get some value from them.

Book as many one or two night stays as you can in the cheapest possible accommodations. Then I would use a rental service to monetize your reservations. I don’t think you have time to even try renting them all out yourself. And, considering the short timeline, your per point rental price will not be high.

One of my contracts closed with a fair amount of expiring points (~100?) and a week to rent them. I rented them at a super-fire-sale rate in about 24 hours after putting them up on this site. (By super-fire-sale rate I mean $10-12pp), to someone who had flexibility and could drive to WDW. Good luck!
