If anyone has towed a camper from NS to WDW we would appreciate your thoughts on this.

We are booked into Fort Wilderness campground at WDW for mid March.
We are towing our 32 foot Durango fifth wheel. We are experienced RVers and properly set up to tow.

We have towed the camper in the US as far down as Lancaster Co. PA, and my wife and I have driven as far down as Ashville NC via the Blue Ridge Parkway in our Miata but have never driven any further south. We have been to WDW several times now but have flown down and rented a car while there.

Speaking to a number of local NS snowbirds the consensus seems to be to avoid the I95 route til below the big cities ( NYC, Baltimore, Washington) - perhaps all the way down to NC.

Most people have advised going west on the I84 then down the I81 - how to go back towards the I95 and eventually into Florida \ I4 is where opinions start to vary.

My concern is that most I have spoken to are driving a car, not towing a camper. As any RVer out there will tell you it is considerably different.

I know there are other threads that comment on driving tips but I could not see one specifically relating to towing.

Any advice re route, camping spots, fuel stops, what to avoid, what to see etc., would be greatly appreciated.

We have allowed 3 to 4 days travel time either way.

Thanks for any suggestions.

We have towed our TT to WDW from Sackville, NB since 2004. We have taken both the I-95 and the I-84 , I-81? route. My DH prefers the I-95. There is more traffic but we have found it considerably shorter. We have always taken the I-4 across to WDW and haven't experienced any trouble. There can be a fair amount of traffic around Orlando at rush hour but this has never been a big problem. We generally stop at Cracker Barrell restaurants to eat as they have RV parking and we like the menu. Fuel stops are when we need them, those which cater to trucks often have more room for getting around. Good Luck with your trip and have a great time at WDW.:goodvibes

There seems to be lots of advice re driving a car to WDW, especially from Ontario, on other threads. The I 75 route seems to be the favored one. We are coming from further east but really want to avoid the northern part of the I 95.

Anyone else out there have any experience towing??!!
