Hi All

We returned from staying at POR last October and have felt down ever since....why....we thought we just couldn't afford to return to the World in the next few years. 1. Because money is tight and I want to stay in WDW and 2. My DS starts comprehensive school in Sep. We like to go Sep/Oct as it is always quiet and I thought by the time we could afford to go he would be doing his GCSE's!!!!

Anyway I spend most of today looking at our budget, writing spreadsheets and seeing where we could save. I was realy supprised to see that, If we save hard, we could go next Sep/Oct. My DH agreed we would work hard to save and he is also activly looking for a better paid job.

The help I need is, who should I book with, who's giving the best deals and the best places to stay.

We lover POR last time and had Free dining, but it was only the quick service and we spent money on Table service and ended up not using all the counter service credits.....Is having the Table Service Free Dining worth the extra cost of booking a delux???

Thanks
Sam

Dont mean to be a kill joy Sam, but secondary schools are generally taking a firm line with those parents wanting to take their children out of school. It may be an idea to investigate your chosen schools view of it before getting too excited.

You can always upgrade your DP to the regular one rather than paying for a deluxe hotel- it would probably be cheaper.

Complete Orlando have got 42% off OKW & SSR next year with free dining may be worth checking out.

You can, but just remember, if you are thinking of budget, for the TS meals you need to set aside about an extra 20% for tips - it adds up quickly

This has been discussed at great length recently and the general opinion was that schools cannot stop you from going - they can only mark it as an unauthorised abscence (and most of those won't even follow through on that after threatening it)
I certainly wouldn't be put off booking a holiday just because the school may make a big deal of it - but I also understand that everyone is different.

Thanks Guys,

My job requires me to work closely with the secondary school my son will be going to and they are fine with a two week Holiday as long as they are informed and it goes as a authorised absence, so I know we are ok with that.

I've looked at compleate Orlando, but the Flights don't go up to Sep 2011.

You're wrong about that. Even primaries are issuing fixed penalty notices on occasions, and any holidays not authorised prior to the absence will definitely get an unauthorised recorded.
That said, if like Sam you've checked things out beforehand, go for it! Oh, and I agree with you, I wouldn't be put off either!:lmao:
