Racking my brains here, debating whether to go or not.

Never been before, thinking about Aug, getting a cheap flight.

We have DVC points with a use year of Aug.

We are not planning on going back til Sept next year, so will have points to use from Aug.

Has anyone stayed at DLP on points before.

Which is the best hotel to choose from

What are the crowds like

What is the weather like

Sorry lots of ?'s

Is it expensive

Are there charcter meals, what is there to do after the park closes.

I think i have covered it all lol

I have stayed there using DVC points - but that was when you didn't need to use so many!!! We stayed at the Hotel New York for 33 points per room per night. Now even Sequoia Lodge costs you from 43 points per night!!

The best hotel is the Disneyland Hotel, with the best location of any Disney hotel anywhere - right at the entrance to the park! :cloud9: But it's very expensive or costs a lot of points.

As a compromise, the Hotel New York is almost as plush as the DLH but as it doesn't have the location of the DLH, it isn't as costly!

Have a look at these virtual tours to get an idea of the hotels. And I'm sure you've already seen it, but here is the DLP point chart for 2006.

If you go in august it should be warm.

in August the park will be open to 11pm so it will be late very when it closes.

At the Disney village there is a few things to do (IMAX Cinema, most films in french though) Buffalo bills wild west show. There is a night club and billy bobs saloon does entertainment, I think it mainly line dancing though. also it is easy to walk to the hotel bars for a quiet drink.

Character meals are at cafe mickey (Disney Village) Inventions (DLH) Plaza Gardens( main street) Lucky Nugget Saloon (Fronteirland)
