You may or may not be aware that my mate and I were planning to spend NYE in Disney but I am tied due to my job and can only leave on the 31st Dec so we tried to book the Eurostar Disney direct for 31st Dec only to be told its not running on that date or the couple dates before due to enginnering work on the line. We didn't really want to fly out as the weather always seems to be foggy at that time of year and so many flights get cancelled although its still an option as we could fly out late on the 30th Dec. Although we wanted to be there for NYE we could go on the 4th Jan for a few days and it would be alot cheaper and I think we would still be able to see the Xmas decorations. We just don't know what to do, our hearts are saying fly out on the 30th but our brains have worked out we could stay in the Disneyland Hotel on 4th Jan for less than what we would pay for NYE!!

Also if you hold an AP do you qualify for the stay 2 nights get 1 free, or does it just work out cheaper to buy the package and just ignore the tickets you get as you can't sell them *** they have forfait written on the back.

Would really appreciate other peoples thoughts. Thanks

I would personally go later and stay in DLH....

....Whilst NYE would be lovely there, it would be really busy also.... I'd rather go later, stay in a more luxurious hotel and have a more relaxing trip.

Thats just me though!

I've always wanted to go to DLP for either NYE or christmas but when I priced it up it was way too expensive. We're going on the 4th Jan purely to see christmas at DLP but at a lot less money. I'd go on the 4th and stay at the DLH.

I'm biast on this-I am flying out there on the 31st to stay in the Castle Club. Not cheap but once in a lifetime!

Although it sounds wonderful to be there for New Years Eve it will be so much quieter in January.
We went last year between Christmas and New Year and it was sooooooo busy. It was more or less impossible to move sometimes and so difficult to even find a seat to sit on to have a drink. We had booked table service meals before going and were so pleased we had.
I think I would be tempted in your situation to go later and enjoy a more luxurious hotel at a much quieter time.

We had similar dilemma.

We were going to go out on the 28th Dec and come back on the 2nd Jan. But having looked at prices and hearing just how busy it can be, we have now booked to go out on the 1st, stay in an offsite hotel for 3 nights and then go to the Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights. We will have APs by December but it worked out cheaper at the DLH to book as a package.

There will be 4 of us - 2 adults, 8yr old, 2yr old. Booked as package £672 (under 12 free and 3 for 2 nights )

Phoned Disney direct, they quoted room only ( as we won't need pass ) are you ready for this .... £1,410.96 :scared1:

Needless to say, we booked as a package :yay:

Cor that is a difference!!

Probably works out cheaper to book the package then!!

Wonder if you can use the tickets to get into the park and then use them and your AP to put in the fastpass machines and get double fastpass? Anyone know if this might work?:)

I can confirm that definitely works Fiona :thumbsup2 .

Just think how many times you could do BTM in very quiet January, and with double fastpass!!!!!

Will the Christmas decorations and parades still be there on the 4th Jan? I have just been looking at prices and would love to go as long as everything still looks Christmassy :santa:
