I seem to have become the picture mom for my boys' baseball team. I am looking for a site (preferably free) where I can upload photos of all the kids and let their parents view and download (preferably at full resolution) so they can print what they want. I would want it to be private so that only the team's parents can view. My pictures seem to be between 5 and 8 MB each.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!

I had a group of friends we did this with on excoboards.com. It was private, the creator of the board had to approve who could join in.

Flickr is quite good for sharing of full resolution photos. They can download at full resolution, print themselves, or even order prints depending on how you set the permissions. (You'd have to invite the other parents to become contacts in order for them to have permission to order prints).

Yes, it's free for a certain amount of storage -- but the free storage is HUGE. I have like 6000 photos, that are about 10mb each.... And I'm only using about 1% of the free space. You can pay extra for an "ad free" account.

From their FAQ
What’s the difference between a Free and Ad Free account?

Free:

1 Terabyte of photo and video storage
Upload photos of up to 200MB per photo
Upload 1080p HD videos of up to 1GB each
Video playback of up to 3 minutes each
Upload and download in full original quality
Unlimited monthly bandwidth

What's a Terabyte?

Short answer: 1 trillion bytes.

What’s a byte, you ask? All right, we’ll bite. A byte is a teensy unit of measurement for digital information, usually containing 8 bits. (One byte generally contains enough information for a single character on a computer.) Even though one byte is itty-bitty, a trillion bytes is a whole lotta space -- that's over 500,000 photos to share and enjoy in their original, brilliant quality. Snap away!

Do you care how much your images are optimized or altered when you upload them?

I use smugmug. It's not free but it's not expensive either. It has the least amount of optimization applied to an image that I've found. It also has easily managed privacy settings.

x's 2 for SmugMug

I love SmugMug. Again, not free but they have tiers and the lowest is pretty reasonable.

X3 for smug mug...$60 a year for unlimited storage of jpg and video files is a steal. They just revamped their templates and interface, and as previously mentioned its really easy to set permissions, password galleries etc.

+ 3 for Flickr.com

good site for free photo hosting, they can download full resolution copies

Thanks so much! I've looked into Flickr. I will check out SmugMug and make a decision :-). I really appreciate the advice.
