Alison, I'm sure you've been grieving for the life you've lost for some time and that you're probably in a surreal place right now. You're undoubtedly going to need more support going forward than you imagine, so please be sure to lean on your friends - real and cyber - whenever you feel the need.
I'm trying to put the last year to one side and focus on the times when he was well enough to 'have fun'
It will take time but I have some lovely friends - both real and cyber

-so I know we'll get through it in the end
We had a great evening last night and I woke up, in bed, fully clothed, boots and all, at 4.30 am ...........
That's when I thought it made perfect sense to take the dog for a walk-so I did
Phil would have been proud of me (he always walked the dog at some ungodly hour before coming to bed

)
Eve chose to go into school to be with her friends today and they got to eat sweets in last lesson as a kind of celebration of his life
The cremation is arranged for next Thursday afternoon - it's polling day and the school is closed so Eve gets her wish that all her friends can come too

They've all been so supportive of her throughout the years - lovely
He was an alternative kind of person - a previous President of the Whitby Dracula Society and a big Batman fan
I've ordered him a black coffin and Eve has requested a Batman wreath.
She would like to keep his ashes on the mantlepiece with some photos and flowers - like her friend has done with her dog's ashes................
I've said we can have the flowers and photos but, maybe, not on the mantlepiece..............
And, when we've recovered from the great celebration that will be his funeral/cremation Eve and I get to put the finishing touches to our Florida holiday and have a blast as Phil would have wanted
That reminds me, Virgin's reply was:
Thank you for your email.
With regards to changing your holiday to August 2008, unforutnalty we are unable to amend your holiday as your are already within cancellation fees.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Phil used to get so cold and I'd like to get him a Batman fleece blanket to wrap up in for when he goes 'on his travels'.
Can anyone think of where I might get one in time to take it to the funeral directors on Tues?
