Background: DH, DD 13.5, and I are in a 1-BDR BWV for 8 days in June. We have just decided to bring down a friend for DD for 4 nights of the stay. Now I can't imagine 3 girls and one bathroom (nor can DH I am sure!).

So, do we stay in the BWV for the first 4 days and then move to a 2-BDR at SSR?

Do we just take all 8 days at SSR in a 2-BDR and waitlist for BWV or OKW?

BWV is our home ... and we love it. We stayed at OKW many moons ago and loved that too ... I am not sure how we will like being at SSR the whole time but then I don't know a whole lot about that resort other than it is big.

There is no availability in a 2 BDR other than SSR for some reason, according to MS.

Thanks!

I dunno, I think I'd be tempted to just suck it up and stay with the 1BR. Remember that you've got both the bath and vanity part and the other part with the shower and toilet. Then again, if the thought of sharing one bathroom with two 13 yr olds is giving you the willies, then maybe moving over to the SSR 2BR isn't such a bad plan for the last four nights. Just the cheap Mainer in me would be inclined to save the points tho.

I would keep the l bedroom at BWV because of the location and not having to move. With 2 sinks, you should be able to manage ok. You could put a time limit on showers or have Dad shower at night. One person can be showering while the rest eat breakfast. I don't think it should be a problem, but then I was raised in a house with 4 sisters and l bathroom.

Thanks for the input. I have mapped out five options for DH ... who want to call MS himself to see what the waitlists looks like.

Interestingly enough, I called Disney Dining to make our ADRs for this trip (which is 70 days out) and I was able to get EVERYTHING I wanted (LeCellier, Fantasmic Package at 5:40 at Brown Derby) ... Made me wonder if perhaps there is availability at BW and the powers that be are pushing SSR since it has lots of availability (then again maybe I have been reading to many DIS posts that led me to this conclusion ... said with tongue firmly in cheek!)

The 2 bedrooms are truly lovely at the SSR. I would opt for the convenience of having enough room and the two bathrooms. Have a great time on your vacation no matter what you choose. :thumbsup2

I have read so many conflicting reports here on DIS about the location of SSR, the "hugeness" of the resort and the dreaded a/c that I have been somewhat unsure of going that route.

DH absolutely LOVES the BW for its location ... he likes walk to ESPN for take out one night as well as walking to EPCOT and MGM. I think SSR would provide a very different vacation ... and since we are playing golf two days it would work out.

Sadie I agree on the bathroom and space siutation :goodvibes Thanks for your input.

Think of it this way, If you didn't have DVC would you rent 2 rooms? It's no different then being in a regular hotel room with 1 bath- at least you have the split bath. I 'd stay at the BW. You just need to set up a time limit and/or schedule. I have 2 girls who are still little (5 & 8) and the 3 of us get ready faster than my husband. :rotfl2: We are always waiting for him!! Go figure.

Good point Tink ...

But I must admit that since we have had DVC I have been very spoiled and can't imagine what it would be like to go back to a regular room. The 3 of us (DH, DD13 and I) stayed at in BW studio in January for a long weekend and it reaffirmed why we love 1 Bdrs :rolleyes1

DH is calling MS early next week ... the saga continues :lmao:

I don't mind moving, so if it were me, I'd split the stay. 2 to 4 days at BWV, concentrating on EPCOT, MGM, the Boardwalk, ESPN, the pool, etc. Then move to SSR (they'll do the work for you), and at SSR concentrate on MK, AK, DD, golf, the pools, and having the extra bedroom/bathroom. You'll have some time at your home, and I presume favorite, resort. And you'd get to try a different resort to see what's it's like.

In your situation, I would keep your current reservations and wait-list for the last 4 nights in a 2 bedroom at the BWV. If the views ore the same, you may luck out and not have to move if you can get the adjoining studio (not guaranteed).

I hate having to move.

I agree...I would waitlist the last 4 nights in a 2-bedroom at BWV and just keep your fingers crossed. :thumbsup2 I think the location of BWV outweighs the bigger room at SSR. You just can't beat being that close to Epcot, and the night-life at the Boardwalk! :sunny:

A quick family vote is in favor of wait-listing the other 4 nights in a 2 BDR at BWV and making do if it doesn't happen.

This is DD's friend's first time staying at WDW and I think she will enjoy the :hippie: "kewlness" or whatever the word is now for cool/neat/rad of staying right on the BW. I suspect DD would go into full whine/eye rolling mode if we were staying so far away from her favorite parks.

Moving doesn't thrill me ... but maybe there will be some :wizard: for the wailist and an adjoining studio.

I agree

:tink: for your waitlist.

I don't have any personal experience with this, but I do know a few DISers who said they preferred the Boardwalk area with their teens because they could give them a little more freedom and know that they were still very close by.

The extra space is always handy, but I don't think sharing a bathroom will be THAT bad.

Let us know if your waitlist comes through!! I have always gotten my waitlists....so here is some pixie dust that you get yours!! pixiedust:

I know I said DH was going to call MS .... but ...

I just got off the phone with MS and was able to get the last two nights in a 2bdr at BWV ... We are waitlisted for the other two nights as well as all 4 nights in a BW View instead of the preferred view.

Looking for lots of pixie dust :wizard:

Will keep you posted on our waitlist.

Thanks everyone!
