advice please - 2 nights b4 cruise

We are very excited to be planning our summer vacation. We just booked a cruise in August from Cape Canaveral. We would like to fly down to Orlando two days before our cruise and take our ds2 for his first visit to WDW. We will be flying in Thursday afternoon and plan to go to Disney for one day - Friday.
I would love some recommendations for a good place to stay. We will be renting a car. My parents will also be with us. Can anyone recommend a nice place, fairly close, good pool for our son, for under $100? There are too many options out there.

I would look at Pop Century. We are taking DS(3) there in May. If you search the threads you will see that there are a lot of people that speak very highly of Pop Century. I believe Pop has at least 4 pools. He would love it. Check it out.

We are staying at Pop Century for 10 nights in July. Nice place.

If you are looking for offsite, we booked the Orlando Vista (used to be the Doubletree) for two nights after our WDW stay for $42 /night on Priceline. It's a 2 1/2 star upscale. The reviews are good, and the price is right. It is located at the entrance of Downtown Disney.

How about Buena Vista Suites (listed for like $89 a night on the home page here. They are 2 room suites and are just outside the Disney gate.
