We are planning on renting vacation club points for a upcoming trip November 2014. This is the first time we are renting points to stay in a vacation club resort (I am so excited! I have no idea how I didn't know about this because we love Disney and go yearly). Anyways it will be my husband and I plus our daughter who will be turning 2 when we go! Just wondering where you would stay? We will have our car so transportation isn't something that will be a factor in our decision where to stay! We will be spending a good amount of time in our room so we want to be comfortable. Thanks for your help!

I just want to say you are well into the 11 month booking period. November is a busy time for DVC. Don't wait too long.
With a little one, I would say BLT to take advantage of walking to MK and monorail to EPCOT.

We are DVC-ers and we try to stay at different resorts. Suggesting a place really depends on many factors\preferences.

We LOVE BLT b\c it's so close to MK. Aside from BLT, you could also stay at the GF or Polynesian and have easy access via monorail to MK or EPCOT. There's also the boat ride over to MK which your kiddo would probably love too!

Last October we stayed at BWV last trip and loved it too! We were a 12 minute walk to DHS and <10 minutes to EPCOT. And the BWV pool was awesome. I haven't had a bad room yet at any of our DVC resorts (knock on wood).

We are booked at BLT for next November, but we're contemplating switching (if available) to the Wilderness Lodge Villas.

I always wondered about the "busy" times for DVC. Is there somewhere that shows historically when it's more\less busy? We wait listed BWV last time, but that wasn't unexpected given it was the F&W Festival at EPCOT. It came though but I'd be curious which resorts are easier to book at different times of the year.

My understanding from reading (& a bit of experience, I'm still is new to DVC!) is that sept-January is busy time for DVC, bc of holiday lights and/or low point times.

In my experience from trying to book things, AKV & SSR & OKW are easier to get in more times of the year (as in, not right on 7 or 11 months out). There are exceptions to every rule, of course! But in general. These resorts are larger and not right on (aka walking or something other than bus transportation ) a park.

For me, taking an extra 10 minutes on a bus is no big deal, but I've never known any different. I never even stayed on property till 2013!

If you want in at the "cheapest" level of BLT, you need to book it ASAP, IMO.

GL!

Staying with a 2 yr old and having a car, I believe Animal Kingdom will be your best bet. It has great pools, animal views (savannah view) and great r
est. When we travelled with our GD she loved the pools just as much as the theme parks.

The day right after Veterns day and FW closes is a very good time to book thru out Disney crowds are light, most rooms are generally available at 7 months. However, it doesn't last long. The week of Thanksgivivg gets very busy.

Thanks for everyone's help. We booked the AKL. We are super excited. We stayed there six years ago and loved it. We think our daughter will really enjoy it. She is obsessed with animals. We are looking forward to trying some of the other resorts in the future and thinking about getting a season pass so we can go a few times in a year.
