Advice on where to stay?

Hello DISers! I am thinking of bringing my family(2 adults, 5 kids) to DL from Jan. 21st - Jan. 26th and spending it in the parks Tues. through Fri. But I just found out that the NAMM conference is there during the same time.
How does this affect crowds and anyone know a reasonable $$$ place to stay that is close enough to the parks to walk that will accommodate my family of 7??? TIA

Have you checked the Desert Inn & Suites for availability? We'll be 7 with my parents, and I think that's where we're going to book.

Yes, I have. Just wondering if anyone more experienced at seeking out Internet deals knew of any place that would work. Adjoining rooms is also an option, I suppose.
Anyone know which places will offer this option?
Also, is the NAMM conference why Jan. 24th-26th are so expensive?

we have gotten good deals at both sites. you have to call last minute travel to get the best deal though. good luck!

RI Maingate could work for you as well. Loft suite has 1 king, 2 queens + pull out sofa bed, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, included hot breakfasts...10-15minute walk from DL gates. We stayed there similar dates to you, two years ago and had no issues booking. We didn't even notice the NAMM crowds, we had walk ons for almost everything!
