Advice on waitlisting

I would like a studio at any of the four properties checking in Oct 16 and checking out Oct 19 -- right now the only availability is the night of the 16th and 18th at OKW -- the 17th is not available and no studio is available at BWV, BCV or VWL -- should I waitlist 3 nts at my first choice BCV or just book the 2nts at OKW and waitlist the 17th?? Thanks for any help/advice!! (also need help in getting a BWV logo in my signature line -- I have the logo just need to know how to get it in there!! Thanks!!)

Welcome to the Great Vacation Club. My family joined in 2000 and it was the best thing we did.. Point prices have increased 3 times in the past 2+ years.. So your investment is a good one.. But in answer to your question you are not limited to one selection on the waiting list. So get on it for Old Key West and any other resort you wish to stay at.. They will continue to keep on the list up to 7 days out from your trip and will call you in the event any rooms open up at those resorts you chose. I called last week because we are planning a last minute vacation from oct 27- to Nov 2. And they called me on Friday to let me know a room at the Old Key West had opened up.. So do not hesitate and get on as many lists as you would like... Have a great trip!!!

I would book what they have and waitlist day by day at all the DVC resorts You may have to move around, but at least you will have a place to stay! Hopefully you can get something all at one resort! But moving around is not really a big deal either. In fact we choose to do it often I also believe you have to call at the 30 window to remain on the waitlist for days needed that are 30 days or less away. Someone will confirm or correct this anytime I am sure Best of luck to you!

Well, I called back and the OKW was available in a 1BR also the 16th and 18th so I booked those 2 nts and waitlisted the 17th -- I decided to splurge since it's a special occasion -- I am so excited!! I hope the 17th comes through!! (I wonder what's up with that night?? Friday available but Thursday sold out?? )

I'm not at all surprised that Friday is available, but Thursday is not.

Friday (and Saturday) nights are often available when the surrounding weeknights are not. Many DVC members choose not to spend the "extra" points required for weekends.

Sunday through Thursday nights stays (check in on Sunday and out on the following Friday) are probably the most popular stays with DVC members.

Friday has higher point costs. It is always easier to pick up weekend days late in the game. I would waitlist a studio too just in case that comes through and the 1 bedroom does not! I would put it (the studio) on a call to confirm basis, but have the 1 bedroom on auto confirm.

They actually asked me if I want to waitlist the studio also and I said yes, waitlist the studio for all 3 nts and waitlist me for the 1nt for the 1br and the 1br waitlist is an auto confirm. Now, can anyone tell me how to get the logo into my signature??

To add an image to your signature, the image must be on a website. Copy the address of the location by right clicking the pic and going to the properties prompt. Then, go to the user cp button at the top of the boards click it. Click profile. Then, scroll down to the signature box. In the box type

img with a [ before it and a ] after it. insert web address then type /img with a [ before it and a ] after it

It looks like this substitute img instead of the word bud

Get on that wait list. It actually works. We just got the call for our wait list. It took a while, but it happened for us for Thanksgiving. Keep the faith and don't give up.

We are currently on a waitlist for either a 2br or a studio anywhere in in the DVC World from Dec. 1 through Dec.5. DH, kids and I have a confirmed ressie fro WLV at this time. My in-laws decided to join us and they have plane tix. My question is should I book a great rate at a Downtown Dis resort for them-non-refundable or hope for the waitlist to come through?
Another option would be to book at another location , but at a higher refundable rate.

The waiting is the hardest part of "waitlist".
