Oh, this place is awesome!!! I haven't been to Disney since 1988 and we only went when there were no lines, which used to be the week before Christmas. I never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride, even SM. Therefore I have never experienced Disney crowds. We are going the last week of September and I know they say it is one of the slower times to visit, but what can I expect in terms of waiting times for rides? I've read some threads where people are waiting HOURS, and I sure hope that isn't the case in September! TIA!
HI there! I am also going to be there the last week of September - for the beginning of Food and Wine Fest @ Epcot, during
free dining and HOPEFULLY NO HURRICANES.
Fast Pass, Fast Pass, Fast pass.
One thing to do for line management is to figure out before going to a park which are your top rides to ride... then get there early, and head straight to the top of that list. If it's a ride I really love (or you think you'll really love), Fast Pass it first, THEN hop in line. Usually by the time we are done riding, our FP time has come around and we can ride again. OR, if we choose not to, it's also a blast to hand off those FP to folks walking up to the queue.
Generally, HS's Toy Story Mania, Epcot's Soarin' and MK's Peter Pan (why this is, I just don't know) will have the longest lines. When getting to those parks, we BEEELINE straight to those rides for FP. If the standby is short, we ride it too! (The exception is Peter Pan - I love the nostalgia of the ride, I don't need to ride it more than every other trip.)
If you aren't interested in parades, that can be a great time to ride - or Wishes @ MK, or during Fantasmic (especially if there are two shows) at HS.
All said - I really wouldn't worry about it. You will probably encounter one silly line on your adventure (I'm betting TSM @ HS), and if you do, be entertained by the charming things to look at while waiting... play a rousing game of EyeSpy... or, decide that it's not worth it, that you aren't going to stress over it, and that you'll just save that one for another trip!
