Advice on tickets with LLMP

Our family of 4 is arriving Dec 19-24. I'm debating about getting LLMP with our tickets. The dilemma is that we have family coming up from San Diego for 2 days and I am pretty sure they are not going to want to get LLMP. Knowing that this time of year the LLMP prices will be high, do I go ahead and get LLMP added to my immediate family's tickets? Or should I wait until we get there and only add on the days when our San Diego clan won't be there. The caveat to the 2nd option is that my 19 and 21 boys are not early risers and I'm worried if they don't rope drop with us, we may not be able to all get LLMP or the times we want. WWYD?

That's a tough one. They've sold out seldomly so I think you CAN wait until day of to purchase. The price could be higher, that is true. Personally I wouldn't spend any day without LLMP. It saves SO much time

I too run into the problem of a teen that wants to sleep in...my husband and I let her sleep in last time and spent a morning to ourselves with a leisurely breakfast and then a few rides, we did standby and saved using LLMP until she joined us.

The tough part is that you are going during a busy time of year. Never say never, but personally, I wouldn't worry about LLMP or SP selling out that week. Prices don't fluctuate all that much. However, ticket prices in general are expected to increase soon (probably next week). You can look at the Thrill Data numbers from last year. LLMP went from $36/day to $39/day on Dec 21.

Which days will the SD family be with you? Will your boys get up early on those days? If not, how late do they sleep in? Will they stay awake until park closing (likely 11 pm)?

Yikes! I better get a move on and get our tickets! Kinda glad I waited since our 21yo decided he wants to fly back to Seattle (from Hawaii) and drive down with us. But now that's decided, we need to make a decision! Thank you so much for the heads-up on ticket prices!

The San Diego family are tentatively thinking 12/22 & 12/23. I'd be shocked if this group of family will make RD 🤣 They are late for everything! We've learned to just do our own thing and meet them whenever/whatever time they show up for things. I think I could convince my kids to get up for RD if I agree to let them sleep in when we are in San Diego the following week! I think I may risk it and just get LLMP for the days just the 4 of us are together.

Just making sure you know that you can’t book a LL for someone until they scan into their first park for that day. So sometimes we have our girls (20 and 18, so I feel your pain…) wake up, go to the DCA gate in their PJs (we stay at the GCH) and scan in, then go back to sleep for an hour. Then DH and I can go into the park and ride standby while I book/stack LLs for all of us for later (using “modify” often to move the times later). So while you and your husband could book LLs for yourselves if you RD and the kids sleep in, you will all need to scan in to be able to book together.

I think LL is so valuable at DLR, especially when you have PHs to increase the number of rides you can book between both parks.

I wonder if you could do this! This is my plan for the 2 days the San Diego relatives are not with us.

I did just hear back from our SD family that they are indeed going to splurge and get LLs so this makes things really easy now! Now I'm crossing my fingers they make it for RD!😂

That makes things a lot easier.

You can 100% do this. It is somewhat common. People tap in, go to a conference, stack LL and then return to the parks after the conference to use their LL.

Will you be staying at a Disney owned hotel? If you are at DLH, you can try to enter the park via the monorail. You are officially in the park once you are scanned in at the monorail turnstile. You could enter and then exit without getting on the monorail. That said, the monorail isn't always open at 8 am.
