advice on rope drop and Pirates League

I am looking for info on how things work at rope drop. We have made around 20 trips to Disney over the years, but have never been to parks at rope drop. We are not early risers at all. We tend to make use of the late extra magic hours and then sleep in a little in the morning. This year I have a 9:00 appt at Pirates League on a morning that the park opens at 9:00. I have read that we can enter the park early in order to reach our appointment a few minutes early. I am wondering how this works. Is there a special gate that you use for entry? If so, where is it? Where do the people waiting for rope drop go? Have they already gone through the security and bag checks when the show starts? Will we have to weave through a large crowd to get to the early entry gate? I really don't like the idea of having to push and shove through a lot of people who have no idea that we have early reservations. We would be coming in from the resort monorail. Any advice or descriptions of the process would be greatly appreciated!

There is a special tap style for early reservation people. Last time I was there, it was on the far left side. As long as you keep to that side, it's not hard to make your way there. People will be through security, but the edges usually are pretty clear.

When we had a park opening Pirates League reservation, we got in early, but were held at the entrance to Adventureland. Then right at 9, they walked us all back.

The reservation line for ADRs, tours and such is to the far left of the turnstiles; usually there is a CM holding a sign, but if not, just ask any CM and they will direct you. I don't have any experience with a Pirate's League appointment at rope drop, but I would assume it's the same line. Everyone waiting in that area should already have gone through security and bag check.

We had an early appointment one time at Pirate league and while we were admitted in the park (I wanna say it also fell on a EMH morning) we were held by rope at Adventureland and then they walked us, with the rope, all the way in. So at that point we just got mixed into the shuffle of folks so be prepared for a little bit of a crowded walk in.
