My family will be going to Disneyland on Dec 2nd-4th and are considering purchasing the WOC picnic meal on Friday the 3rd at the park in order to get fastpasses for the second show (hopefully less crowded :scared:)

Anyone have experience with same day picnic purchase recently? What time did you purchase the meal that day and what fastpass color section did you receive? And how was the lining up process and the crowds?

Thanks in advance!! :)

We did this in September. We purchased our meals around 2 or 3 I believe. They were out of the kid's PB&J meal at that point. We got the yellow section. They were giving out blue when we stopped by earlier but you have to take the meals with you when you purchase and we weren't hungry yet. I don't know about line up -- I didn't end up going. Sorry.

Is there a reason you want to see the 2nd show? With only 4000 guests at each show, only some 3rd shows are not sold out. The 2nd and the first are usually equally busy, although I have read that the line up for the second show may be a little more organized. If you don't need the second show, why not just pre-order the picnic and stop stressing? -- Suzanne

This is a very good point. Only do the walk up if you have no choice or really only want to see the 2nd show. You may get a yellow or blue ticket, but unlike preordering risk that they don't have the meal you want or any left at all and then you will the show all together.

Thanks for the suggestions :) Since I read somewhere before this that the line process for the second show was more organized and less a mass-of-people-shoving-through process, I thought the 2nd show might be better. But you're both right about not taking a risk if I really want to see it. I'll pre-order those picnics. Thanks!
