Hi -
Thinking of doing the Ohana breakfast. If so we'll probably do it before heading off to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.

Is the parade at a certain time? If we book breakfast at say 8:30a what might we miss?

Do they have at least 3 characters show up amongst teh several listed?

Any thing else I should know about Ohana for breakfast
(our other option would be Chef Mickey's - first time for either as this is our 1st time to WDW).

Thanks.

We have usually had 3 or 4 characters show up for breakfast at 'Ohana. IMO it is a much better experience than CM's. You should miss anything no matter what time you book - the characters continually 'loop'around the room and if they have a 'parade' or anything they will repeat it every so often. :)

This is our favorite breakfast - I was annoyed at the wait time last year, so I started to "overthink" it -

and I noticed that they seem to divide this up into sections (maybe 3 or 4 - not sure) So they seat one complete section - and then they do not seat any other diners until the entire section is empty and re set - then they seat all the tables -

that way the characters go around to the sections - rotate thru - and I think they may do 1 - 2 parades while we ate our breakfast - the characters were in the middle of autographs/pictures, so I figured we'd lose out, nope they came right back!!

I really do love this, but honestly waiting and waiting when you have a later adr is frustrating!! BUT knowing why you are waiting - helps!!

Ddog,

You shouldn't miss anything. There is a lot of interaction with Mickey, Lilo, Stitch, and Goofy. The parade is (around) hourly. BTW, everyone is called cousin there! Have a good time...

I heard they have coconut sweeping contest? kids sweep coconuts around the restaurant- designated areas? This was mentioned as part of the parade time events? Is this true?

Or am i co-co-nuts:rotfl:

Thanks :goodvibes

Like the OP we plan on O'hana's for breakfast and then on to a water park. What would be the best time for our ADR? I'm not a morning person- but DH and DS are- so time really won't matter that much, other than we'll be staying in DTD at that point, so we'll have to change buses somewhere right? Or take the MK bus and then the monorail to Poly?

Thanks!

We did this a few years back, also, but if I remember correctly, Blizzard Beach didn't open 'til 10am, or it could have even been 11am (this was a mid-September trip). So we didn't kill ourselves getting to 'Ohana. We took the MK bus then the monorail, and after breakfast, me just went out to the Poly bus stop and picked up the BB bus.

Good to know! I didn't even think of that! So I won't worry about making a super early ADR. Thanks! We'll be there in November.

We ahve been to Ohana a few times for breakfast and there always seesm to be a wait. The later the ADR the longer the wait. Adding the confusion is the waiting area seemed quite small for the amount of people waiting to be seated. This maybe aresult of there seating plan mentioned by previous posters.

If going allow 30 minutes past your ADR time just in case unless you are going very early.

even with an ADR we waited more than 1/2 hour to be seated past our ADR time. We checked in 15 minutes early, too! The food was excellent, the character interaction was great. Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. The parade was every 45 minutes. We got there just as one was finishing up and we got to see one as we were finishing up.

We really always liked the breakfast buffets, but because of the size of our party and the last minute trip, we couldn't get in. I didn't regret going to Ohanas instead at all.

Enjoy!

We loved it but we waited almost 40 minutes for a 9:20 am ADR which was annoying. Service was excellent, the "parade" is about every 1/2 hour or so-they hand out maracas to the kids (and collect them after!). Lilo, Stitch, Pluto and the big cheese Mickey Mouse were all there.

To get the best fun-interact with Stitch! Tell him bad jokes, do your best Elvis imitation-you will not regret it.
