Advice on my itinerary

We are DL veterans but are taking our first family trip to WDW August 2-9, it's myself, dh and our boys aged 4.5 and almost 9(he'll be a month away from 9 at the time) and our friends are coming to for their first time to the World ever, their boys are almost 9 and 6 staying at the ASMovies.

Day One-Saturday-Arrive at MCO at 10:30 am(taking a red eye eek!) get the WDW, stow bags at hotel and have lunch, hoping room might be ready early if not we'll explore a bit, take a bunch of pix of the kids around the hotel with the big TS characters and such, maybe swim and just relax, dinner at the hotel and bed early, very early! LOL

Day Two-Sunday-EE at MK back to the hotel early afternoon, lunch rest up. Ice Cream Social at 3:30, spend the evening at Epcot plan on eating counter service either Liberty Inn or San Angel.

Day Three-Monday-EE AK, straight to Safari, breakfast at Rainforest at 10 am, do more at AK back to the hotel mid afternoon rest up and swim, dinner at Boma that evening no plans for the evening after that, leaving it open, but I'd like to go to DTD.

Day 4-Tuesday-EE MGM early lunch at 50's Prime Time, back to the hotel to rest. Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern at 5:30, E-Ride night at MK

Day 5-Wednesday-Sleep in! spend the afternoon at DisneyQuest and evening back to MGM for Fantasmic! Dinner package at Hollywood and Vine.

Day 6-Thursday-Probably another day at MK maybe split it up between MK and Epcot.

Day 7-Friday-Waterpark day, not sure if we want to do BB or TL, then spend the evening at the Boardwalk and eat dinner at Beaches and Cream, early night!

Day 8-Saturday-Chef Mickey's at 7:45, then back to the hotel to load up and leave. Our flight leaves at 1:30 so I assume we should leave by 11:00am? Does that sounds about right

How does that sound to all of you WDW Veterans?

Sounds good but no Fantasmic?!?!?!?! That's our favorite show at WDW and wouldn't miss it. Have fun!!!

Wow you've done a great job! If it were me ...

Day One - dinner at Boma or other meal. I think everyone will be psyched and want to do something a little more. You can view animals, hear storytelling and do dinner at Boma in a couple of hours. Nothing too draining and something more than hanging at the hotel all day. You can still hit the hay early!

We'd spend a tad more time at MGM. Sometimes we do fine at MGM with getting in all the shows and on other days we seem to really need another day in order to complete the park.

I think Chef Mickey's is a great way to end your family trip! I think leaving at 11am ought to work well.

Water parks have a high attendence on weekends, including Fridays. If it were us, we'd switch your Thursday and Friday plans.

I like the way you've really built in rests into your schedule. Great planning! Have fun!

If you can rest up on Sat I would try to catch Spectro and the fireworks. Also, I eat breakfast early have a snack in the park and a late lunch before heading back to hotel to rest. It won't limit you to where you have to be in the park for a PS (Rainforest and 50s PTC) Also, do you have a list of everyones 'must do's?' I hope you plan on staying for illuminations at Epcot, too. I'd also make time for a monorail ride through the hotels and epcot. Always a fun way to relax and cool off. Have a great trip!

Sounds great! Looks like you do have Fantasmic plans.
I am a bit worried about your EPCOT/AK days. EPCOT is huge!! If we do EE, a break, then stay up for Illuminations, we would never make it to EE at AK the next day. Why not call it quits at EPCOT rather early (say 6 or 7?). You won't be leaving til at least 10 otherwise. Then you will be rested for the early morning safari you have planned the next day.
Then, plan an EPCOT evening for Thurs where you see Illuminations. That won't cause problems with your water park visit the next day.

We will be there the exact same time as you. Me my dh, ds 10 and dd 5, we are staying at the all star movies too, this is also our first trip. We can hardly wait.
